"Use At Own Risk" by Weezilou

"Use At Own Risk"

It goes without saying...

Billy pointed this "dock" out to me as we walked Back Harbour this morning. Surely it's someone's idea of a joke!
Haha, I'd say so..... Nice. :D
June 17th, 2010
yeh great humour lol , great for the shot too . I love the texture
June 17th, 2010
Looks unstable to me LOL! How sweet of your neighbors to have a special meal ready and waiting at home for you. How fortunate you are to have such dear friends :o)
June 17th, 2010
Ha, I want to see the person who takes that seriously and tries to use it. I love the dark color of the water.
June 17th, 2010
Great shot! You never know about people, maybe without the sign they run the risk of getting sued if someone got hurt.
June 17th, 2010
too funny! strikes me as funny that the "use at own risk" sign is a cross...cause if you DO use it, you'd better be praying! funny find!
June 17th, 2010
Nice one, and funny too. It is definitely in bad shape, but a nice subject for your photo. Nice!
June 17th, 2010
Hmmm... I think it's worth the risk, don't you?? [:
I like this photo, though!!
June 17th, 2010
What a great find! It looks a little unstable to me...lol
June 17th, 2010
Definitely looks risky,,but makes an awesome photo! Good job =)
June 17th, 2010
haha! what a great shot!
June 17th, 2010
Well that certainly is an "understatement"! Vacation is over, we just arrived back here in Illinois a few hours ago...had a wonderful time! Now I gotta catch up with everyone! I think I need a vacation from the vacation!
June 17th, 2010
Good find - great photo!
June 17th, 2010
What a wonderful find, Louise! ;-)) I wouldn't risk it ;-))

I hope you get some tranquility tomorrow ;-) It's good you are not the only noisy neighbours - summer is the time for relaxation, but also rennovation! Soon enough the roof will be done, and you can welcome the lazy mornings once again ;-))

Washington has a wonderful small town feel about it. Jeremy says that it reminds him of New Orleans - all it needs is the horse-drawn carriages ;-) I've only been to New Orleans once, after Katrina, so I can't really tell. But it seems that every town that's on water (river or ocean), has a more relaxed atmosphere about it.

Today Jeremy powerwashed the house - tomorrow it gets painted in historic colors ;-)) Getting anxious to move in soon! ;-)

Have a great rest of the week and good night ;-))

P.S. I lose track of time, too - it's so easy to do! Weekdays blend into weekends, and vice versa. My computer is still showing Bulgarian time... right now it's 7 in the morning at home! ;-)
June 17th, 2010
great find!! :)
June 17th, 2010
Yikes, use at your own risk for sure. Great find!
June 17th, 2010
LOL- doesn't look too sturdy. Makes for a great picture though.
June 17th, 2010
Love the wood against the water!
June 17th, 2010
That amuses me! Love it when signs state the obvious!! "Free firewood" could equally well describe it! Lovely water texture.
June 17th, 2010
fantastic capture!
June 17th, 2010
Haha. Fantastic find.
June 17th, 2010
What a terrific find, that's halarious! Great shot Louise.
June 17th, 2010
Yikes! Great find - definitely watch your step!
June 17th, 2010
lol gosh, maybe just a little risky :)
June 17th, 2010
That's a funny sign. You need to risk you life just getting out to it.
June 17th, 2010
Don't walk out there to get a picture Louise! Even if it's a squirrel!!!!!!

:-)
June 17th, 2010
Oh, how funny, Louise. I love this photo
June 17th, 2010
That is so funny Louise. Fantastic find and great shot.
June 17th, 2010
One would think so and then you see someone do something INCREDIBLY stupid and then you understand why signs like these exist. haha
June 17th, 2010
This is just great! :)
June 17th, 2010
someones having fun ..unless whilst he was placing the sigh he fell in and it ended up like this ..lol... did you look down (o;

its such a nice picture .... I hope my decking goes this lovely colour in the sun Louise ... somehow i doubt it will its just too wet over here
June 17th, 2010
great find,I love the picture.
June 17th, 2010
Hahaha. What a find! Glad you took this picture.
June 17th, 2010
Had any big storms lately? My friend's dock looked like this after one of the hurricanes pounded their area.
June 17th, 2010
looks a bit tricky
June 17th, 2010
Oh wow. Very precarious. Great shot though.
June 17th, 2010
Hahahaha great concept and great shot! Complete with what looks like jutting, rusty nails. Thanks for the comments on my project by the way! I look forward to growing in photography and the 365 community :-)
June 17th, 2010
Hey Louise, there's a dachshund meet up at Seaview Memorial Park in Halifax this Sunday. Wish I could go! LOL http://www.whosyourdachshund.com/2010/05/halifax-dachshund-takeover-june-20.html
June 17th, 2010
That's funny! Ha ha ha. Great!
June 17th, 2010
They go with us pretty much everywhere. With Jordan being our special needs pup...we can't leave him with anyone. I'm sure he would have a heart attack. He's afraid of everyone but us (myself and Tammy). He's been like that from day one and we have no idea why. He's the sweetest boy but just so afraid of everything. We are going to Charleston, SC at the end of July and they will be tagging along...lol. We rented a house that allows dogs.
June 17th, 2010
LOL! Good find on your walk. Watch your step.
June 17th, 2010
this is such a very interesting photo, Louise! i love the way you composed this especially with the deep blue water underneath the broken plank!
June 17th, 2010
that's funny! glad you like my turkeys! We have quite a population of wildlife at the place I work. The campus is large and we have left much of the land to wooded areas and prairie conservation. The turkeys are normal residents. They're funny because they are not afraid of us. They must "know" that we're not going to eat, I mean hurt them.
June 17th, 2010
Love it! Never noticed this dock before. Too funny =-)
June 17th, 2010
Love the angle and comp! Great job, Louise!
June 17th, 2010
Oh that is funny, I like that!
June 17th, 2010
Great find! I really like this shot!
June 17th, 2010
What an amazing capture. Definitely looks a little rickety. Wouldn't be surprised if someone gets a shocking drop into the water when stepping on that thing. (I picture one of those carnival booths where a guy in a chair gets dropped into a tank when someone hits the bullseye with the ball. Haha)
June 17th, 2010
:)
June 17th, 2010
I think that sign must have been there a long time, nobody could erect it at that angle without getting down underneath, surely.
Anyway it gave us all a good look and discussion.
June 17th, 2010
n
This is really neat and ironic! I love it. :]
June 17th, 2010
Ha. Made me smile. And no pummeling necessary...I'll talk! :)
June 17th, 2010
how funny - that certainly wouldn't pass a health-and-safety inspection! Thank you for your comment on my strawberry - and yes, my one fave is Pink! When I started doing this I selected lots of faves at first, but then ended up not keep up with it and decided not to have any - so I removed them all - but couldn't bear to "delete" him!
June 17th, 2010
haha yikes!
June 17th, 2010
Morning, Louise! Nope, I've suffered zero jet lag this trip! I've been sleeping later (6:30) than I ever do in Colorado. I guess it's a measure of how ready I was for a break ...
June 17th, 2010
Oy, I hope this dock-builder doesn't build rafts, too. :-)
June 17th, 2010
haha! I just love signs like this...! Good find!
June 17th, 2010
I'm surprised you didn't take a venture out. I bet it would have held. :)

awesome find Louise! I'm glad we both get the whole time vs 365 battle. You are not alone. sending you some smiles and sunshine! :) always loving your photos!
June 17th, 2010
This is great .. at least there was a warning sign. my host -Hans's sister and i went for a nice walk through the woods and when we came to almost the ends of the walkway she saw a sign that someone had thrown into the bushes ..it was a warning sign for bikers that there would be 7 steps ahead which lead directly to a highway below. can you imagine what might happen to someone not knowing the danger ahead. and who in the world would do such a thing on purpose. some people are just sick!!!
June 17th, 2010
Ah, Louise, what a wonderful picture. I love old things like this! I matches my old wharf building in Mahone Bay, wouldn't you say? Very fun!
June 17th, 2010
Haa Haa, great capture, nice picture, and so funny, someone really has got a sense of humour! : )
June 17th, 2010
Oh my, well I sure wouldn't be taking any chances on that LOL. Maybe when I was younger, but not these days.

It certainly makes for a great photo!
June 17th, 2010
