The Little Red Schoolhouse by Weezilou

The Little Red Schoolhouse

We had a full and a wonderful day with friends arriving from Paris, Texas. This was the first day I felt I didn't have time to give as much consideration as I'd like to taking a photo, and, coming through Mahone Bay on the way home, I had Ken stop the car to take a picture of this home...isn't it adorable? Not a very creative photo, but a darling house!

My friend Nelda told me she'd been showing her 365 photos to her son when they just visited him in NYC, so anytime I told her something about our stay up here, she was already a step ahead of me, quoting something I'd written with my pictures. I really get gabby, don't I!

Thank you for all your lovely comments on yesterday's picture and with my buildings in the fog. I want badly to thank each of you, but I know you understand. Sincerely, Thank You...
Congrats on being in the top 20 this week!!!!! Way to go, Louise!

Absolutely perfect!
June 27th, 2010
Another charming photo. Reminds me of watching Little House on the Prairie with it's size and classic charm. I could never imagine going to school in a building that small! I'm glad places like this little gem are still around though!!
June 27th, 2010
This is to good to be true, but I know it is. Beautiful composition.
June 27th, 2010
A wonderful photo! It reminds me too of Little House in the Prairie and Anne of Green Gables.
June 27th, 2010

June 27th, 2010
Schoolhouse? That's a cute building for a school. I love the red. It reminds me a bit of the Swedish houses.
June 27th, 2010
Wow! Gorgeous. Such a beautiful vivid red and then it's highlighted nicely by the bright red and green chairs.
June 27th, 2010
Of course, you know I meant BLUE and green chairs, doh! :)
June 27th, 2010
Ah, Mahone Bay!! I love this so much. There is so much color in NS I think because winter is so long that they need something to brighten the long cold days.
June 27th, 2010
This is just awesome!!!
June 27th, 2010
Oh my, what a quaint building. :D Made even quainter by the name of the place and the gorgeous colour it's been painted with. :D
June 27th, 2010
Gorgeous little building!
June 27th, 2010
Cute building! I can't imagine teaching in a small school like this, but then again, maybe I would like the freedom that would come with it. Yeah! I think I would.

June 27th, 2010

Love the coloured chairs in the front they really give perspective to the size of the barn.
June 27th, 2010
I don't know the history and if it ever was actually a school house, but it's owned and lived in by a family now. I've passed by and seen them szitting out in the yard a time or two...

Thank you for all the nice comments...I just dropped in post "Breakfast Club" and we're on our way out again in a minute. Lovely weather...lovely friends...
June 27th, 2010

June 27th, 2010
It does look like a school. I love that shade of red :).
June 27th, 2010
Oh, this is beautiful! I wish I had been to a school that looked like this instead of some huge big building! Every child everywhere should have stuff like this!
June 27th, 2010

If I can't live in YOUR Luney home, of course! ;-)

And thanks for all of the love, Louise!
Have fun with your guests!
Don't worry about replying!

June 27th, 2010
I really love this! It's such a sweet little school house and the bright red contrasts so well with the blue and green chairs out in front. :)
June 27th, 2010
i love the color, louise. you say you didn't give that much consideration taking this, but it still turned out beautifully.
June 27th, 2010
Lovely pic Louise, such a great little house, so different to anything around here in the middle of France. 365 is so good in that you can see so many different things from all over the world.
Don't worry about not posting too much, enjoy your holiday with your friends. My family is coming over tomorrow from the UK so I shall not be around much although the camera will be busy taking pics of my little grandson and my big girls!!
June 27th, 2010
I would like that house! Although red is one of those colours that is meant to influence mood? People might start walking past it and feeling terribly mad until they get out of the front yard and have no understanding as to why! :P

I thought i'd add you to watch because I always check your photos when I remember, so this is a lazier way to keep track - having them delivered to me!

Hope you had a good time with your friends! :)
June 28th, 2010
Stunning colors, love the pop of the chairs in front.
June 28th, 2010
Beautiful!
June 28th, 2010

June 28th, 2010

June 28th, 2010
This is so pretty! I love the vivid colors! Not bad at all for a quick grab! ;-)
June 28th, 2010

June 28th, 2010

June 28th, 2010
That is such a neat house! I love the two seats in front, too! Ha, by the time you leave Lunenburg, we will know it like the back of our hands! Just watch us!
