We left the house at 5 AM to take the first of our friends to the airport this morning. The second couple didn't have a flight until mid-afternoon, so we went out to breakfast, shopped & went for a walk in Point Pleasant Park in Halifax. I saw (and photographed) several squirrels, but they kept at a distance. Truthfully, I was too tired today to expend a lot of energy on photography. On the trip home, I dozed in the car, but needed to revive to have dinner with friends later this evening. I'm not one to easily admit defeat, but I'm ready for a good sleep tonight.
Thanks for all the nice comments. After I clean up around here and get my life back in order again, I hope to find time for 365 once more!
Another great angle! I really like how you make us feel like we're right there as part of the band instead of part of the audience. Very unusual perspective. Take it easy and rest up! It sounds like you need it!
This is a wonderfully focused shot. Love it. I hear ya on needing sleep, just make sure that you are taking care of yourself and much as you are enjoying yourself and your vacation! Phew, I missed a lot of your photos, I think it was 5 days in a row!! But, I'm all caught up now. Can't wait to see what fun you have tomorrow =)
This is one of the hardest instruments to master; seeing you never get to see your hands while you play and you pretty much have to twist your back around and keep your left shoulder from hunching up... I know because I play this instrument; and have done since I was 11.... and that's just the posture.
Getting your breathing right is another thing altogether; and even harder!
If you appreciate flute music, you're doing half the job... try playing the instrument... it's a real challenge.
This year, Sir James Galway is visiting Australia and Mum and I will be seeing him when he comes to Brisbane. I'll see if I can meet him again; as i met him for the first time when I was 13 years old; and his music has meant everything to me.
Ah, looks like you're heeding my advice and getting some rest...albeit in the car...but it's a start. ha! Really nice shot of the flutist. You appear so close, it looks like you could have been turning the pages for her. :-)
Louise, I just found out 365Project had magically unfollowed you. How does that happen? I don't think I've ever unfollowed anyone. I also don't know how to find someone other than seeing a comment on another post. Oh well, I'm back--and it's been fun catching up with your photos. Always great and a story being told.
This is a great shot!
I love the unfocused background, and the composition, and the angle this was taken from!
I am in love with it!
And I am a big fan of flutists!
Louise, thanks for your comments on Vince's picture and especially for watching his production. He works very hard and absolutely loves what he does--he is literally living what he's always wanted to do--well maybe at ESPN, but he is having a great time and has had some incredible opportunities. Thanks again.
$1.99 for ONE liliko'i?!!? At that price, I juiced about $150 worth, today alone! And, I do this about twice a week! (Good think I have a "secret" vine that I collect from every couple of days! LOL!)
have a good night =)

What kind of monkey business are you offering us here, Lady ... ?!?
Fantastically captured.
I actually play flute myself (:
Just looking at her music there in the background makes me cringe!! D:
Awesome photo, though!

Beautiful!
