While I lack an inspiring view from the window, I love my northern kitchen. When we moved into the house it had a sink. That's all...not a shelf or cabinet, but in the empty space, a sink. We bought a stove & refrigerator, and a makeshift shelf was built, & that's how we used it for the first couple of years. We refered to the house as "Camp Lunenburg". A couple of years ago we had a wonderful kitchen built in over the winter, and it's a pleasure now to have friends in for meals, and to have company in the kitchen while we all share in the preparation.
glad to see you have also continued with your rose theme! Good thing you got your kitchen done, I can't imagine hosting all those dinner parties without one!!
so glad you were able to make it feel more like "home"...couldn't imagine going without those necessaties....lovely shot, too! just how i would imagine your kitchen would look.
I love the flowers on the window sill and the way you have the curtains drawn back! I wish I had a window behind my sink... I just get to stare at cabinets as I wash dishes. ;-)
I must say, looking at this photo gave me the irresistable urge to go grab a book and read. :) Looks so cozy and peaceful- just what every book lover needs :)
The curtains just drew me into this! What a sweet setting!
Thank you so much for your comments..., you take the time to interact with so many people, I really appreciate it!
How wonderful to have a window next to your kitchen sink. Mine is towards a wall. Another picture with this special Lunenburg romantic touch. I just love it.
hmmmm, interesting. I miss having a window over my kitchen window. Now I have a picture of Ryan and his best friend. I like the photo (I took it) but it's not quite the same as a window. Hmmm, maybe I'll use that photo as a 365 though come to think of it . :)
This is wonderful. Lovely picture and what memories it stirs.....MY mom's kitchen sink overlooks the backyard of the house where we would play. She'd watch us---my brothers and sister---play our games (baseball) from up above and even though she wasn't there, she was. The kitchen window sink has so much meaning.
very pretty!! I took a window shot similar to this one when I was on my trip with my sister--it was raining too--but I wasnt too happy with the way it turned out!! Your picture is lovely!! :)
yes a picture of a cottage window to a beautiful home. both pictures look good and interesting especially the first one. I'M HOME. we had the greatest of times being with the whole family.. especially for me who doesn't have any family left in Germany. but Home is Home.
Beauuuuuuuuutiful framing, Louise and excellent lighting. it's soo lovely. the flowers are such a nice touch. all you will see on the sill of my ktichen windows are dead cacti. don't ask me how i managed to kill a plant that survives on desert.
thks Louise, for visiting my photo diary....=)

Hey Louise, just a quick note to say thanks for all your constant wonderful and uplifting comments - hope you enjoyed flicking through my pics (although I can never work out how you find the time to be so supportive to everyone)...
PS - You seem to be having a wonderful life just now... hope I can look forward to the same :-)
Hi Louise. thanks for the comment on the bug. the picture was still taken in Remscheid at the home of my sister in law. but yes today is our first full day here at home and there was a lot to do. the garden was just overgrown with lots of weeds (funny they grow the fastest). our roses did not withstand the heatwave a week of over 44 degree with the humidex so they were all dead. we trimmed them back quite a bit and are hoping that they come back because usually they bloom into September. in away i'm glad to be home.
As I was going over todays "Popular" photos, yours is my favorite of all. I love the feeling you created with your window and curtains and flowers. I just love it. Like out of "Country Living" magazine!! Love it.
How lovely!! ;-)) it's nice to see where the famous apple cake is being made ;-)) I like all the flowers and the bottle-vases! We got a hickory kitchen cabinest the other day - I am so excited to get to use them soon! ;-)) Me and Jeremy love cooking, so the kitchen is an important place for us, too! ;-)) It doesn't need to be big - just cosy and inviting ;-))
A beautiful shot Louise...so homely. Thank you as ever for being there to comment first on my Paris picture. We had such a fabulous time, some quality time together...so many pictures and so much to catch up on!!
So pretty, I saw this on the favorites page yesterday and without even looking I knew this was one of your pictures, then I looked and confirmed it was yours.
Hope you are continuing to have a splendid time at your Canadian home. Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks for the link back to this......just as I would imagine....a romantic touch with lace and flowers lol I've read through your responses.....fancy some people having no window over their sink, just a wall.....unbearable! In my picture, the trees and greenery are actually out to the front so i can watch the world go by as I do the dishes! Thanks as ever for your friendship Louise.
