What a lovely storm we had last night and into the morning! My first concern of the day was what I might photograph, given the constraints, and I sought inspiration... Dill is always a possibility... And how to picture a rainy day... Red pj's and coffee fit the theme... Then, as the skies cleared, I got a call from Enid inviting me to lunch with a friend I hadn't seen yet this summer. Food photos of a really delicious meal never disappoint... Afterward I suggested we walk through town for some additional ideas, and we ran smack into the Italian Navy! "Ahoy Sailors"! How about a tourist photo? And as we headed home, one more picture of our famous waterfront buildings, painted "Lunenburg Red", yes, one of Benjamin Moore's actual paint colours. On a day when I never expected inspiration to come, I walked away with a handfull of snapshots... Nothing exceptional, but, together a nice reflection of my day, and it turned out to be just fine!
I was amazed at all the nice notes you left with my "Rachael Ray Wannabe" photo! "Thank You"! I can't wait to hear what Eva thought of the response. A couple of you asked for her pancake recipe, so here 'tis. I can vouch for it's goodness!
~Eva's Buttermilk Pancakes~
1 C Buttermilk (or 1/2 milk & 1/2 yogurt)
2 Eggs
1 T Oil or Melted Butter (she used Butter)
Combine in separate bowl
1 C Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
Combine together
(She sprinkled the pancakes with blueberries)
oh wow, don't you just LOVE days like that?! I know I do. i love this collage and I think it's a fabulous representation of your day.
And I just love how it fits into the theme as well! :D
Looks like a fabulous day over all.
What a wonderful day you wound up having! Dill, however, seems to be a little less inspired about the rain, although it does appear he managed to stay dry! As for the Italian Navy, what sharp uniforms! I'm glad they obliged your photo request!
Love that Italian navy! And the gal with them isn't so bad either!
Actually the whole collage is terrific because it gives us such an insight into your day and the pleasure you derive from Life with a capital L
This is a great collection of photos, and it's indeed nice how it all seemed to come together for you as the day unfolded. The Italian Navy, their uniforms are really sharp. Nice collage Louise.
p.s. I REALLY like the Lunenberg Red....When I get back to Texas for good...I can see myself building a new shed in the back yard and using this color. It's such a fantastic shade!
well i'll be...lunenberg has it's own paint color?? now that's really getting put "on the map" so to speak....wonderful collage! you look so comfy in your jams!
This is so fun!! I need to catch up with you and everyone here. Thanks for checking in on me a few days back. I am planning on returning to 365 Sept. 1. It's been a busy busy time and my computer crashing was only the begining of so many things breaking etc. I'm excited to rejoin the project shortly. I may post a few pictures here and there before then.
Thanks again, it was so nice to know I was missed. Looking forward to scrolling back through some of the photos from the past month! :)
What a wonderful day. I love a good rain to relax and snuggle up for the morning with a good cup of coffee. How fortunatus to have the sun come out for a change of plans and an outing. Your collage documents the day beautifully.
Oh I love the collage of snapshots and the stories behind them, it's all just so very interesting, all your summer photos make me want to visit Lunenburg someday. :)
Again, I am pretty jealous of your great day! Lovely shots all of them and I really enjoyed the story, it was fun to read along and follow the collage.
Oh, Louise, here it is the middle of the night and I got up for a glass of water, couldn't resist a peek at 365, and what do I find?!!? Birthday wishes galore! Thank you, my friend! I wish I had visited in a more timely fashion, as the day was otherwise totally uneventful - hours of assessing children's reading - and I came home exhausted. Took the time to get yesterday's shot loaded and that's it! Now it's the middle of the night ... should I stay up or go back to bed? Hmmmm ...
What a day...i must say Italian sailors would always be a bonus....heheh! A great one day collection. I tell you in years to come you are going to revel in the memories you are capturing here.
What wonderful photos you got today in spite of the weather. I feel like I'm right there, following along with your day. How cool that Benjamin Moore has a Lunenberg Red!
Another wonderful day, despite the rain! I need to learn how to make a collage, it looks great! Love the Italian men...Very nicely done! We do have the same weather conditions here, maybe I can take some rainpictures this afternoon...
I love this one!! Such a great representation of your day. Love that it fits into the theme as well. I had to click on it when I saw the thumbnail on the popular page to see what the yummy food was LOL. Just got up and hungry already!
And despite the rain you managed to have a great day and take some fabulous photos!
Such a nice montage of your day ... & there you go again having fun!! even in the rain.. lol... , but those sailors trousers look a little tight fitting !! no doubt designed by Donatella Versace.. (o;
This is great. I have to figure out how to do a collage. I wanted to do that this morning with the pictures I took last nite in Wolfeboro but just didn't have time to mess around with it. I love this grouping. You look so toasty there, enjoying your "cuppa" in the rain. And Dill keeping dry. And whatever you were eating there? Yummm......make sure you thank Eva for the recipe for her pancakes, too.
Louise, somehow everyday when I get to your photo, about 65 people have already commented about it, and have said everything I wished to say!! So ditto on everything above, and I will just say .love it..love it...love it
Although it is still high on my list of places to go, I feel as if I've already visited your Lunenburg through your wonderful pictures. Thanks so much - they are great.
Fabulous collage and congrats on being on the Popular, just checked it before my bed time 12.30am I'm getting better at this. That buttermilk pancakes sound wonderful, I wonder if I'll get to make them.
Louise, what a wonderful day! i love the photos, all of the reds and the snazzy Italian navy uniforms!
Thank you so very much for all of your kind, wonderful & encouraging comments on my Zelda Mae, Selfie & other photos. You have such a gift with words. You are simply an A#1 awesome person. Many hugs & God bless!
LOVE the collage--it's so great to see snaps of your day like this! although i'm quite jealous of your meal (crabcakes?!) i love all the red sprinkled throughout--especially the 'lunenburg' shot and the red, white, and blue of the shot of you with the navy boys! but hands down my fave is the one of you all cozy in your jammies!! perfect!
Its always nice to listen to a storm when you are safe and sound tucked up in bed ( like the red pj's. nice collage featuring Dill.of course . plus the shot of you with the sailors ! you look as though you enjoyed "the wet day. ...in answer to your question . no when our children Helen, Richard, and Jane were growing up we lived on a farm near Malvern, and for some years farming in Saudi Arabia
Louise! I love this! Thank you for your comments, apologies for my slow reply and return to 365. I recall your birthday is in August... did I miss it? I must go back to your album and check! I am looking forward to your return and getting together with the So-Cal bunch!
I love how this collage tells a happy story of your day, it's fantastic!
6th form (Y12/13) is school...it's for children aged 16-18 and it's optional. You take your A-Levels, but yeah it's in a classroom with teachers and stuff, the only difference from normal school is that you choose to be there, you choose your subjects, you only do, on average, 4 subjects, and you get to choose what you wear...to some extent anyway xD. I don't start for another week but I'm really worried about having new classes, new teachers, new clothes and loads of new students! (we get a lot of people who join our school for 6th form). But I managed to get some sleep last night, yayyy! xD
Louise, I love all of these!!! I came to your page to say 'hi' and "thank you for your sweet notes" and I was in for a lovely surprise! It seems that you had a full day! This collage couldn't be better - you have a little bit of everything - a handsome kitty, some refreshing rain, theme-red PJs and coffee, tempting lunch, Lunenburg red and to top it all of, a photo with Italian sailors!! I love it when unplanned days like this one turn into a spontaneous delight! ;-) I am baking some cookies now - I wish I could share some with you! Wishing you a beautiful weekend! ;-)
Louise, thanks for your comments on my collage Katrina.....5 years later. Yes, I wish I had an answer, also. And don't feel bad about your happy collage, we certainly need to see life celebrated, also!
Fabulous collage! You had a FABULOUS day with fabulous pictures! I LOVE that you took photos of it all...And I couldn't agree more with Gayle, you look fantastic with all those sailors!
The best days are the unplanned days with little surprises around each corner. Sounds and looks like you had one of those days! Great collage to share! Hope tomorrow is even better!
I'm behind in my 365 visiting and posting - too many irons in the fire this end :D !!!!
What a lovey collage Louise! so colourful and many stories all in one - what a great day you had - thanks again for sharing!
Thanks for the note. I just posted photos for early August. I left on vacation for 4 weeks and now I am busily posting them as fast as I can. Should have August complete this week.
