The movie crews are back in town. The t.v. show, Haven, is in it's third year of production, so to let the town folk know there would be some disruptions around Lunenburg today, we received a notice in our mailbox. To me, it's just a notification of where to go see and photograph the action! I felt as though I was on a private tour of Universal Studios! The first set was down by the docks, and it was such fun to see Eric Balfour and Emily Rose who have starring roles. The man I photographed on the top left looked familiar, but I couldn't place him. When they wrapped shooting at that site, I went home, uploaded the pictures and Googled Haven. I didn't come up with an answer...
But...you'll love this...when I was ready to go to the next location at the Court House just up the street, I stepped out front and there was that same man parking his car in front of our house! I'm not terribly shy, so I said I'd just seen him on the set but didn't know his name. Turned out he was the stand-in for Lucas Bryant, the star of the show. He's Mitch Landzatt and he was so nice! We chatted as we walked to the set, and then he took out some papers and said that it was his call sheet with locations, dialog and scenes on it...he thought I might like to have it!
The scenes today were set in 1955, so I took *dozens* of photos of people in period costumes, great vintage cars, and even got some nice pictures of Mitch and Lucas together. Check all three of my albums today...I was having a ball, and don't know how I'll be able to just pick only three!
@digitalrn It's a series based loosely on a Stephen King novel. This is the third year it's been in production, filmed largely here in Lunenburg and about 20 minutes up the coast in the town of Chester. We've watched it enough that we're familiar with the characters and love seeing all the local scenery!
@chard I recall you said you'd caught the show. Not all the episodes are top drawer, but, personally, it's such fun for us to see the local shots. The didn't chase people away at all...everyone was quite nice and accommodating. I was only surprised there weren't more people standing around watching!
@kmackenzie I thought about that...it was so accessible! We watch the show when we're here, but we don't get it in CA...we really like it too! Pretty happy with the picture of Eric and Emily!
You are right. Your crew is much more accommodating than our crew! Although people say Adam Sandler has been very friendly in all his dealings with the locals.
