I Love Higher Education! by Weezilou

I Love Higher Education!

(Which isn't to say I'm having a self-congratulatory moment, but I can see the cumulative effects of what I've been learning these last several weeks.) When I didn't know how to get a crisp closeup with a fully blurred background, Steve stepped in with very useful information. Kathy has already taught me so much about Golden Hour photography, it's something I can translate into other areas. Frank and Taffy have been hugely supportive of my post processing, and in no small part, you, who leave me comments, have been my cheering squad when I was full of self doubt. (I left out Kass by oversight; she was amongst the first of whom I asked a question.) Ferry/Pyrrhula asked to see a close up of this tiny orchid, so this is in small exchange for his exquisite fields of tulips! Susan, more flower photos for you, too, until I "cross the freeways at rush hour"! Thank you all...I may never catch up with the level so many of you have reached, but it won't be for want of trying!

(And to all of you who were kind enough to say nice things about the sunburst photo with the dreadful flower stalk front-and-center [though I was compelled to use it because of the duck!], let's move forward with a better image of that flower!)
Many great people out there to give a helping bit of advice. ;) I learned everything I know through a combo of 365/Flickr and YouTube. Very nice Louise - gorgeous golden light! And I keep forgetting to tell you, but there is a 50/50 chance I might be coming out to Nova Scotia in September. Would love to meet you if you're still out there.

@kass FIRST...Please forgive me for not adding your name to that list! You were one of the first to give me some advice at the outset this year! I'll hope for even better than a 50/50 chance you'll get to the NS South Shore! We'll be there until at least late Nov, and you're more than welcome to give us the details of your visit and we'll make any arrangements to "meet up" or "stay with us" as pleases you. I'd be delighted! Keep in touch!

@Weezilou No worries! We've all asked a zillion questions and I wouldn't be able to remember all the names of the people who have helped me. I'll for sure keep you in the loop regarding NS. It's all up to my husband's ever changing work schedule which will determine if he can take the time off to get out there. Fingers crossed! ;)

@Weezilou Got your email. Many thanks Louise. You can delete your message above so spam bots don't pick up your email.

Thank you dear Louse . It`s not the big amount that`s count. I often love the pretty little ones the most as they have to have a closer look and interesting. This is for me a GREAT one. Love the composition, love the lighting, love the capture.

Beautiful composition, focus and lighting Louise and a FAV for me. You're quite right, the 365 community is quite amazing and I think we all learn so much from the more experienced photographers out there who are willing to comment and explain.

Wow I love it! Beautiful capture of this golden hour - orchid. I have lots to learn to and you for one inspire me to reach higher and learn new things. Thanks for that!

Please pat yourself on the back for me, this is beautiful!! I love to shoot in the golden hour. The light is magical, just as you've captured here.

Exquisitely photographed, Louise! The chosen DOF puts all of the blooms in focus while creating that soft, blurred background. You've got a prize photo here. Fav.
