Baby Oh Baby! by Weezilou

Baby Oh Baby!

(something to crow about!)

We heard a lot of fuss and ruckus out front early this morning, so what a surprise to find this little fledgling crow sitting next to the gardenia bush I photographed recently! Well, his folks were frantic about our presence, but I just looked and didn't touch. He didn't move from this spot so I got a lot of photos, though I wished later I'd used my little camera that gets sure-fire clarity. Still, except for the ducks, I don't have many bird photos, so I'm delighted to have this blue-eyed baby to add to my portfolio!
I've never seen a baby crow. They keep them well hidden around here. Fantastic catch of this sweet fledgling

@cimes1 First baby crow I've seen as well! It was quite fascinating to see that two parents we involved in his training... Thanks to being "out there" with our cameras, we learn so many new things!

Great capture and a nice story to go with it Louise!

@allie912 In that many babies (tigers, kittens, and now, crows) are born with blue eyes, so you think that may be where the expression, "Baby Blues" came from?

@allie912 ...of course it could be " postpartum depression..."...but I know I've heard it in respect to eyes...

@peggysirk @lynnz @bkbinthecity @dailypix @digitalrn @kamen088 @chard @laurawheeler @dgrynn @dgrynn @mozette @kathyboyles @kerristephens @jamibann @allie912 @cimes1 Thank you all for a warm welcome to another visitor in my Peaceable Kingdom! At dusk the two parents were still around, and I suspect the little one is nearby. He's sure to have his pilot's license soon and grow to be a big'un... did you see the size of his feet?!

The blue eyes on this baby are a real surprise to see. I've wished for a crow family to set up house in my tiny neighborhood but so far, no takers. I'd be thrilled to have the chance to take a picture of a youngster like this one. Great snap, Louise.

Thanks for the comment shared on the Pug pictures. I didn't think I was going to get any; she was too scared to sit on top of the stack of blocks. But without being up there, she wouldn't stand still. This particular pug favors turning in circles, constantly! It took lots of playing, petting, patting and cajoling to accomplish my end goal. And then once she started cooperating, I ended up with tons of photos and thus decided on the collage. She's a real snuggle buddy and got lots of hugs afterwards.
