See that Apple-Cheeked Artist & her Sweet Smile? ... Nothing was going to keep me away from the opening of her show this evening!
I count myself so fortunate that I've come to know this talented painter, Ruth Flower, over the years we've lived here. Ken and I both knew we'd be buying a painting this evening...never know what it will be, but we've never been disappointed! Behind her, the oil called, "Path to High Pasture" grabbed my attention immediately. We considered a couple other scenes, but this captures the rural country life we love so well. (Several years ago, when she came to our house and saw the last of her gallery painting's we'd bought, she expressed that she personally loved it so much, she wished she hadn't parted with it... I'd like to have her write me something about that this summer...not that I'm selling it, but it's a history that I think our family will enjoy in years to come...)
All the paintings stay in the gallery until August 31, so I'll share where we've decided to hang it after that date... (My smile is as big as hers!)
@judithdeacon You and many others, I suspect! It sold immediately! I get lots of boat scenes at Paint Sea on Site up here, so I liked the pastoral variety of the other...and am delighted to call it ours!
Talented lady! Honestly, I don't know how I'm going to leave once I get out there. I already warned Rob that he might have to come back to Ontario without me. ;)
@kass It's pretty magical...you've been warned! We came up to visit a friend of a friend, bought property and a house...and the kids complain that we're never "home"! (They're missing the point!)
