On this rain soaked day that turned into a fog bank, Ken and I ran some shopping errands and I thought perhaps this view would qualify for today's photo. On observing it tonight, I couldn't find an outstanding feature to get excited about...so I'll write a list of things I should be thankful for when I see this...
1. We have no meadows like this in the suburbs of Orange County.
2. In this meadow we've seen deer grazing, an osprey on an immense nest, and often a herd of friendly cows grazing.
3. The fog really was lovely...and it had stopped raining...the sounds were muted...
4. And then, what I didn't see immediately as I took this photo was that suddenly...from nowhere...the roadsides are turning golden , as though Nature has a calendar to observe...
5. Enter Goldenrod, Stage Right!
It's almost August! You're on!
I love the fence made out of old wood slats and logs and the barb wire wrapped around them with meadow flowers around the fence line. I think this is beautiful and peaceful.
@pyrrhula Well, thank you Ferry! "Solidago" it is! Always amazed the things I can find on Google! I took some closeups...it's a pretty flower, but gives some people "the sneezes"!
@Weezilou Indeed, I use often Wikipedia. But the Solidago was easy, they grow here to. It has a bad reputation as once planted you never can get with of it.
Those yellow flowers are this Solidago ?
