We've seen him on the deck a few times, but he runs off when we step out. Tonight it was like his memory switch turned on and he willingly let me scoop him up! It was just like "the good ol' days of yesteryear" when everyone held him and passed him around. He's lost weight since last year; I'm betting scallops weren't on his winter diet...
The conversations regarding my photo feeding the raccoons were good, and I'll take to heart Adam's @adambralston concerns. I can appreciate his legitimate concerns, being in the health-care field. I *AM* still trainable...
And if Fred will be my summer cat again...well, just look at the smile on my face :)
Fred looks quite content to be in your arms Louise. I read through some of your other posts related to the raccoon post, and Adam is right, they are carriers of various diseases. Sometimes we just get carried away with our love for animals, and we do not always think about the risks involved, but they are so darn cute, and tempting.
@digitalrn It's a bit embarrassing to have to eat crow in such a public forum, but I can listen to reason... I'll set the food further from the house for a bit and then stop... They've survived for a *very long time* without my assistance... I just love their cuteness, but I've stockpiled at least 20 photos per night, so I'm set for awhile!
@digitalrn That's what I love about my friends in this community...we share and learn along the way, and we all have one another's backs...that's "Trust".
Hey! Now you've got something that's safe to love on. Good. Fred sure is a handsome cat. I checked out his picture from last year — love his eyes in that photo.
I want to mention here that I tacked on an extra note back on the Marshmallow picture for you.
You obviously love animals, it shows in that wonderful smile :) I think Fred knew you needed a visit! I read Adams's comments and I had read about his concerns before ... very serious stuff! Kitties are more cuddly and safer :)
My Mum calls me always : Fred or Freddy.
Now I`ve to take care of the two cats of our neigbours as they are on a holiday . Great pic. of you and lucky Fred.
Good trade! And most of all, you look happy! It took quite a while, but I went back and read most of the comments about the raccoons. I guess the trade is for the best. This is a wonderful picture!
@prairiesmoke Hi Ann(e)! How lovely to have you come by! I hope life is treating you well... It's wonderful how the camaraderie of our early community has stayed with me...and you as well, I see! Your "babies" must be so grown now... must go to see if you've left us some photos! Thanks for dropping by! ♥
Fav self photo Louise Sorry to ask you please could you re post your message on the flowers For Carole as I do not know how it happen but two postings of the same photo uploaded and by mistake i went to delete the 2nd photo as nothing was titled for the photo I deleted the wrong one .
I meant to comment on this, but I never got a chance, and have been thinking about handsome Fred, and your happy smile ever since! Your love of animals knows no boundaries, and I love you for that! I love the way Fred is holding on to you, no fear in his eyes, just pure trust and joy in being with you....he would definitely be smiling wider than you if he could!!
