Our friend, Gill, called to tell us about the "South Shore Multicultural Festival" today, and we set all else aside to attend! We only had two hours to spare, and I wished I might have stayed for the entire event! The Mikmaq people were the original occupants of this region and on this day, many, wearing their buckskin and amulets mingled with locals from China, South Africa, Nairobi, India, Acadia...to name the few I queried... The sounds and photos of the day were as diverse as the people, so my Monday project is to make a short video, trying to encompass a bit of it. It was quite a remarkable weekend, to say the least!
As it was asked, yes, this is my photograph, there at Fort Point, post edited...
@pyrrhula Thanhs for the high marks, Ferry! That's my pictures taken on an overcast afternoon yesterday...I did the post processing and used the "dirty tin type" framing... I'm quite happy with it, so thanks!
Louise, your processing is terrific! It makes this such a timeless shot!
Thanks for your visit and kind comment about my photos from Japan in the last 2 days.
Oh! The post processing touches are, for me, just perfect. It's amazing to think whole families were raised in structures like this. Makes me feel bad for grumbling about needing more room in my home on occasion.
@lyndemc Wow...very insightful observation, Denise!. Thanks for your kind words...I loved seeing your pictures of the festival you went to...I love this sort of thing! @dailypix Thanks, Susan...it certainly was! I'm glad I stayed the course to make the video...I hope people see it as a peek into life here on the South Shore...
@panthora Welcome Home, Osia! Thanks for liking this...it was fun to turn a rather ordinary color photo into a tin type! I used "effects" in Perfect Photo Suite 8...this was a border which is actually the whole thing. I'd used some additional editing steps before finishing with that.
