I woke this morning (about 4 AM/CA...8AM/Ca) and thought about how it is that I've got hundreds of usable photos daily when we're in Canada and next-to-no time to get them posted! I briefly considered I could post more while we're home, but even back here the calendar is filling. I'll catch up as I can, and once again, thank you for your time and comments.

@summerfield How fun to be up this morning with the East Coast crowd! We're super excited to be pulling into the driveway with you and Bill along in a couple weeks! (We need to plan for a morning meeting place in Halifax...will use the phone by then!) This weekend, Joy Anderson @joysfocus is coming up to spend the weekend with us so we can play with post processing and have Ken cook for us..."Girls' Retreat"! Such fun!

@kwind ha ha...Ken says he's impressed that you noticed that! Well, it gets funnier! On a previous flight I'd asked the steward if I might buy a couple as I like the shape. He said he couldn't sell me any but we never had this conversation if I just wanted to pack them up! So on this day as the hostess I;d been chatting with came to take them, I told her to look the other way, they were going home with me... She then asked if I'd like some more and brought me four more! As she handed them to me she leaned forward to say in a low voice, "We ALL have them!" How fun! I'll take at least a couple back up north!

Thanks all...the trip was fun (except for arising at 4 AM!) Ken struck up a conversation with the man across the aisle, heading to Sacramento. The conversation turned to golfing and locations of good courses... Somehow Tucson AZ came up, and within a few more sentences we found his wife and I had attended the same high school there! This happened, too, when Osia @panthora and I first met. Her husband, Roger and I also went to Tucson High School! It's pretty bizarre that that keeps happening in far-flung places and without the help of Facebook! (but no, I didn't know her as she'd graduated sever years before I arrived for my fist year.)
That's a funny story! We flew first class to Italy and I so wanted to keep the cozy little down blanket they gave me, but I didn't think I should take it.
@salza So Sally, do you think we need a 365 Retreat Week someday? The more the merrier, I say! I haven't had anything less than excellent encounters and resulting real friendships...could be worth the trip!
I could use one or more glasses of this right now.
I'm aboard Footloose in Blue Hill Harbor, ME. The traffic was terrible getting up here today. We arrived in the dark so can't wait tip sunrise tomorrow to see this lovely place again.
Tomorrow David and Jay will put in a new transmission on the boat.
@allie912 OK...so today wasn't all that "social"...Dr re: my foot/ankle...eye doctor...overdue mani-pedi...Mexican-food lunch (also long overdue!), and a number of shopping stops! On the fun side, my foot dr took the time to chat about NS (he'd gone to med school in Vermont, but when I asked it had been Middlebury, it wasn't, but he wanted to know how I knew about it! So we chatted and he gave me his email addy and asked me to send photos of NS! Then at the eye drs, the darling gal who always does the prep asked me about NS and she, too, asked if I'd send her photos! ...I think this may be how I end up with a lot of visitors! Loving every minute of it however!
Welcome home, Louise.....or, at least to your other home!! I am so sad that I won't be joining Vikki @summerfield and Bill in NS this year, but there is always another time!! Yes, August is gone already, and September seems to be filling up awfully fast, and before you know it it will be November, and I will be on my way out!! I am starting to get a bit anxious about it as I am accumulating more lenses and photographic gear! I am afraid they might not allow me on the plane with all my stuff!! So glad you got your glasses!! I love it when that happens! Missing you.....have a wonderful time with Joy!! I will be thinking about you guys....and, if you feel like it come to Hermosa Beach where you will find Roger and I over the weekend!

@cashew Ahhh, yes..."bubbly"..."not wine"! I was delighted they had it on board! They never carry much on domestic flights, so I think Ken and I got it all this time! @Weezilou Oh, how I wish, Louise, but unfortunately this is not a relaxing, fun weekend, and I doubt that I will be able to get away anywhere. Roger is doing the HB Labor Day Street Festival, and I am helping him all three days. We will probably get up at the crack of dawn again Saturday morning and drive right through LA on the way to HB for the show. We are staying at a Sheraton near LAX from what I gather on Saturday and Sunday night, heading back home exhausted Monday night after the show. At least it is a nice location...
@kwind I think if you pay for a first class ticket, the least you should get to do is keep the blanket! @Weezilou - I hope your drinking champagne didn't cause the flight to do an emergency landing?! There was a very recent case in Europe (don't recall where it was going), but the stewardess popped a champagne cork popped and it hit something electronic and caused all the oxygen masks to drop down and basically the aircraft had to do an emergency landing at another airport than the one it was heading to! Dangerous stuff champagne!
