This gorgeous heron was so fixated on dinner, he moved from place to place as I followed him. In the last photos, I had only a glimpse of him between two evergreen trees that were next to me, so it gave him a lovely deep vignette.
My dates seem to have become switched around, but I took this photo in Mahone Bay as we neared home. It's always a thrill to photograph a heron that isn't scared into flight.
@gilbertwood I have some from other locations, but then the water isn't as pretty! Here I was just fighting the trees to see him at all! "Grateful for small favours"!...he didn't fly away!
