I'd managed to get some lovely sunset photos before we sat down to dinner, but later, I wondered how high the moon had risen. When I stepped out, it was "pitch black"...but a cluster of clouds hanging over the mountain ridge was lit... And so I waited...only one minute...and there it was! I wish I'd been more prepared, but my intuition was A Gift that kept me from missing that magical moment!
What a perfect conclusion to a wonderful day!
I'm working on something photographically representative of our morning together...
@aglennc Pure fluke, Anita, that I stepped out to see if it had risen! On Christmas Day, I'd like to think Someone was looking out for my interests! I hope you and the family had a terrific day! (Chatted with Joy this morning & she asks that we plan a Saturday get together...soon!)
@Weezilou Very soon......... before the end of January, hopefully. We're headed South for a month on the 29th.... Looking forward to our South American cruise. Yes, we had a wonderful Christmas Day. Had 12 here including family and three "extras", friends of one or more of the family. Great fun. Glad you all had a wonderful day as well.
So glad you did not miss this one, Louise!! It was definitely a gift!! A very good photographer in San Diego went out to the pier in Pacific Beach and caught the full moon as it was setting over the ocean this morning, right above that tree at the end of the pier!! Wish I had been there, but it was way too early for me!!
Absolutely incredible! So glad you were able to get such a stellar shot!
Quick question (perhaps not so quick)...you've been on the site a long time...I'm facing starting year 4 in January...hard to maintain my same level of commitment but not really wanting to quit...How do you do it?
Wow, fantastic shot Louise. I have some shots of the moon on the night of Christmas Day of which I'll post a couple tomorrow. But this is a better shot of the moon itself than mine.
Such a spectacular capture...the moon is so huge and impressive. WOW..good timing. Thank you for your kind and comforting words Louise. You are always so thoughtful and caring!!
