I awoke this morning thinking about using a dictionary page for a backdrop. "Feline" came to mind and here we are! I sacrificed a page from my college dictionary as I haven't leafed through it in 40 years!
This afternoon I'm seeing the first of three doctors this week. This tenacious "flu" bug has me feeling very tired most of the time... Looking forward to getting this sorted out!
Still, I'm trying to accomplish some projects, and, not getting out a lot for pictures, this seems a good time to hone some photoshop skills... Clearly, this was very very simple!
@777margo Thank you Margo...we don't all have to love the same things! I appreciate your kind words : ) ...wow...just struck me you even gave it a fave! Again, thanks!
Lovely presentation Louise!! Time for honing PS skills sounds good to me!! I hope the three doctors can sort you out- quickly!! The "flu" bug seems to be hanging round for far too long!! Take care and be well soon!!
Even though simple you did an awesome job and love how it looks like the one cat is reading it's description and the other is looking at us asking if we understand!!! Feel better soon! FAV!
@tunia Tunia, can you believe it...those branches are super simple! Do you use PS? I only know how to explain in that medium:
1> Find a photo of branches
2>Cut out just some branches and sky
3> Select .. Color range ... and click all over the sky and clouds ...
4> Select inverse which highlights the branches (and no sky)
5> Copy .. New .. Paste ...and you now have just branches and "a clear" background.
6> I made the branches/birds a silhouette by going to Image .. Adjustments .. Hue-Saturation and making the bottom slider darker
7> Resize it for the space where you want to place it and Voila!
Let me know how you do if you give this a try. Like I said...REALLY EASY!
Those steps work for many things...
@pyrrhula@pamknowler@cruiser@emrob@radiogirl@kevin365@gaylewood@cashew You all are so sweet! Thank you thank you! I got a "clear to go" regarding the endoscopy; I hadn't realized how much Ken was worrying about it until today. The doctor thinks she knows what's caused the problems, and we've got a simple regime to hopefully keep it all in check! She suggested I go back to my Primary about this cold... All those "kind words and healing thoughts" have been a real boost! Thanks again ♥
This is very cool. I'm thinking that they are sitting on the word 'feline'? I searched for it, but my eyes are not good enough to read all the dictionary words. It's a lovely image - beautifully done. Hope you are feeling better soon! xx
You are so creative..... I would never have thought of something like this..... Love it. Flu? Oh no... John came home from South America with a major cough and absolutely no voice. Got into doctor the day after we returned and is now on "stuff" to kill his cough, at least. His voice is back.....
@jamibann Thanks, Issi! Yes, I thought better of highlighting the word "feline, but it's by "Pink's" foot. I scanned a number of pages and can't make myself stop playing with the latest and get to bed! This post processing is SO addictive!
@aglennc Thanks Anita! The "cough" is what so many people I know have had. With it comes lethargy, but nothing worse, really. It's just hard to get anything seriously done!
I admire your creativity...this is fabulous! The two cat images you chose to use complement each other perfectly. I hope you get back to normal very soon.
This is so effective. I saw something similar in a little 'something special' shop in Australia. There an old dictionary page had been used as a background to a cut out silhouette.
Reading through the comments I'm glad things are moving health wise. Siobhan had a fun session today. She had an appointment come through to see the head breast nurse. She went to discover it was a prosthetics clinic! Not something she needs! They were able to reassure her as she has renewed swelling of the breast, apparently it's water following the radiotherapy ( worse in big breasted women!)
@aglennc And if he tells you he's lethargic and he has no energy, it's not just jet lag. All I know who've had this can hardly get up in the morning and the body just feels like "lead" or "sludge"...Take your pick!
@ceilidh Oh, "comedy" of errors for poor Siobhan, but erring on the good side! Thank you for sharing the good news that the swelling is not to be of concern. When coping with health issues, aren't we all just a bit edgy when we think things are possibly taking another downturn! The good news is one acts upon it promptly. My love to you both!
I love cats so it's a big fav!
