When laid up in a hospital bed, if you can't surround yourself with flowers, cajole a cute grandson to prettify the picture! : )
Hoping for some real vacation time with the grandkids, we went up the coast to visit them. After a restless night's sleep, Ken pointed out that my leg was swollen and quite black and blue! Took me to emergency and fast forward... turns out the little "cat nip" to my leg resulted in cellulitis that left me as you see me here for 4 days! With lots of good medical care, I wasn't feeling all that badly...until Saturday morning when I wasn't yet released and I had to miss Ashton's soccer game :( At least afterward he wanted to come over with Ken to visit me, and I was sprung late that afternoon.
On the up side of it all, the hospital had an amazing menu from which I could choose anything I wanted to eat at any time between 7 AM and 7 PM. I figured Ashton and I deserved a party, so I ordered him grilled cheese, a fruit cup and a chocolate milkshake to go along with my meal. Sometimes we need to make our own fun...and we did!
Oh, Louise! I'm so sorry that you were in the hospital for 4 days but very happy that you are out now and feeling better. Hope the rest of your time in California is truly vacation time. :-)
@salza@elatedpixie@bokehdot@gaylewood@777margo Thank you all! I've been on huge doses of antibiotics and I've been feeling fine. The grandkids came down to visit us here, yesterday, so I'm making up for the lost time! @bethshepherd My best to you Beth! I know so many people who have their knees "done" it makes me wonder how people held up "back in the day" 100 years ago! It makes you appreciate modern science!
Wait, I missed something! I haven't been on much as I am traveling again but I missed whatever happened that got you into the hospital! But glad to see you looking good and smiling,
Lovely to see your smiling face Louise! Good to know you are truely on the mend! I can't wait to see you in person next Friday! So excited! Lovely shot of you and Ashton - glad you were able to have some fun with him! Fav!
@jyokota Not to worry, Junko! My life has been almost entirely good, but terribly scattered this month, so there are some large gaps in my 365 saga! Filling in as time allows... Look who 'll be visiting next week! Pam arrives on the 7th when we'll both be in NS!
@pamknowler Already I have 3 of 4 suitcases packed! MUCH more going back (food!) than came home. We're enjoying the kids this weekend and I meet up with my group of art friends tomorrow...a couple more dr appts and that's it...off to Canada! What a lot to look forward to!
Oh Louise, look at that!!! I'm so happy to read that you're much better now but what an unfortunate adventure. Although if it happened to anyone... I know you'd be the one taking it with a lovely smile as you do everything :)
@novab Thanks for the note! Feeling 100% again and add a Plus to that as we're "back home"...arrived at midnight last night...well, exactly 24 hrs ago! Rested overnight, stopped to shop and drove home. Unpacked, got a haircut and saw some friends...life is very very good again :) Pam arrives Fri...I'll be checking in about getting together!
@loey5150 Thanks, Lois! I hardly have any computer time at present...so many things to do here! I actually put thins photo up with you in mind as I thought you'd get a kick out of seeing hw much Ashton has grown! He'll be six in 5 days...time goes far too fast! Love to you and Bernie ♥
