As I could see there would be a lovely sunset, I thought it an opportunity not to let pass by. From our California neighborhood we won't see sunsets like this & the traffic is heavy at this time of day in trying to drive to the beach. So we hopped into the car and in three minutes we were at this location,
The reflections! The shadows! The golden rimmed clouds! The light on the town! The colours changing even as we captured one image...and then another! Is this the best photo of the lot I took this evening? I have no idea! It was the first I picked, and I was fairly sure it would be just fine! It was that kind of evening...
Oh what a stunning sunset!! I wish I had somewhere like this to go to capture magic moments like this!! I am so pleased you had this opportunity to see the sunset before you leave Lunenburg. You will have so many wonderful memories captured to browse through on those boring days in California!! LOL!! Fav for a gorgeous image.
@tjsworld@peterday@gilbertwood@sangwann Thank you all; it was lovely to be able to share this! I won't easily be situated to see such a sight over the winter, so I'm drinking it in (with great appreciation!) in the present!
@pamknowler Were your ears burning? Ken said, "Too bad Pam's not here to see this!" We certainly know what you like now! And YES, I have bazillion combinations and HDRs to work on over the winter months! You got me hooked on the big Nikon again!
@cruiser Hate to leave? You have No Idea!!! If it weren't go go back and see the grandkids, I'd be kicking and screaming! As for the fur friends, I'm hard at work making plans! Ken's out as I write, looking for the styrofoam cooler to build housing as Helene suggested with my photo of "Not Fred" the other day. I have catnip to lace the interior to entice him in to give it a try :) We've been asked in the past if friends could use the house over the Christmas holidays, and by March, musicians will be living here most of the time for the LAMP (Lunenburg Academy of Musical Performance) programs. My friend who oversees all that knows my expectations for the kitties! Thanks for your concern and for asking!
@danette THANK YOU for steering me to those! Of course I enjoyed the virtual tour as though I'd been there! ...and yes...wow! About s soon as I'd say to Ken, "Oh! Look at the light on the town!"...and poof! It was gone again!
@chard You got that right! There's a house two door down for sale for a million-2 and I suggested to Ken we be Lookie-Lous. He says our house is just fine, and "no"... hahaha!
