Modern Twist by Weezilou

Modern Twist

This evening it dawned on me that I'd not taken even one photo today...but I spent many hours playing with old photos! In one of my old (purchased) Cabinet-Card albums I found inspiration in the beautiful chromolithograph images of flowers, and had a play with one of the plain album sheets. (There's yesterday's bird, an Orange-Crested Warbler I've concluded with some help from Ferry @pyrrhula. I used the PS filter "Poster edges" and thought it looks like a hand-coloured drawing, also reminiscent of the era).

You all have been so kind with your compliments about my collages! All summer I wanted to get my hands on my collected art supplies back here in California! Now that I'm not "out and about" as much, it's given me a new direction that I'm enjoying immensely! Thank you all for the encouragement!
I'm glad you've found something to keep you occupied and entertain those of us around the world. This is another beauty. Your eye for design really comes through.

@taffy Well thank you! I'm so happy perhaps have found my niche since I can't capture the photos you and so many others do! I'm not dissatisfied with that at all! Thanks again; you've made me smile ♥

@summerfield And if I had your capability to become an actress in front of the camera, I'd be happy to follow in your footsteps! I look around, and so many here are hugely talented and creative... I've just gone back to what I loved for years, but never considered the possibilities with the camera and PS! Thanks, m'friend, for your love and verbal hugs!

This is beautiful! I like the way that your processing makes the bird look like a sketch.

Well that's nice and all, but did you consider a flamingo? ;-)

@stray_shooter LOL! Of COURSE I *considered* it. but I must use them judiciously until I get back to Sta Barbara to restock!

wonderful creations ..... you are quite the designer!

@dsp2 Thank you Dinah. I corrected my caption to read that I'd used the PS Filter Gallery Poster Images to make the additions look like drawings. If anyone has a better idea, I'm fully open to it! Until then, I hope that helps!

@seattlite Thank you, Gloria! I always apprecite the time you take to stop by!

@lynnz Thank you, Lynn. I value the compliments from people whose work I've admired for so long! (You!)

Well, I'm not quite sure how you've done this, but I LOVE the outcome. Using your newly discovered bird and the lovely family photo alongside the old-style photo frames is a winning combination! Love this. Fav.

Look at you - so creative. Very nice Lousie! Just popping in to upload a photo to keep my account active on 365. Rob and I have been so busy this last year and now I've been dealing with health issues which will lead to surgeries in the coming months. Will drop by to keep an eye on you when I can! ;)
