Outside the Walls of The Peaceable Kingdom! by Weezilou

Outside the Walls of The Peaceable Kingdom!

My friend, Barbara, called me this morning to come with my camera; they had an egret in their yard! By the time I got there, it had crossed the street. I followed at a distance as he went from yard to yard. It was here I asked, "What is that stick in his face?" It wasn't until I uploaded these tonight that I saw what was happening! My first is of him noticing the lizard on the wall, and I have a series as that poor little lizard said good-bye to this world. Had I known, I don't know that I would have taken so many, but it was "Nature" happening before my eyes.

RIP wee lizard...
Wow! Your timing was superb. Fave!

Now I know the answer to my earlier question. You have really captured Nature in the raw.

@allie912 I had no idea what I had caught until I looked at the pictures tonight! What a shock! ...especially the one where he sees the lizard on the wall, but I must have been distracted and didn't see him grab it! I try to instruct the cats not to play with the lizards, but now, what of this?!

@golftragic I know you always stop to see my photos, but given our similar directions, I didn't want you to miss my poor, hapless lizard tonight : (

WOW! WOW! WOW! It is so amazing to me that an egret was going from yard to yard in your neighborhood . . . I would give anything to have that experience! The image of your friend calling you to come quick with your camera because there's an egret in her yard makes me laugh! And then the lizard in the mouth!!! Holy Cow! Talk about a wonderful photo opportunity! Fav, of course! :-)
