Mike Gifford, a fine example of a talented member of 365 helping others to have a successful photo shoot on this Once-in-152-Year Opportunity! Ken and I rose at 3:33 AM and as I took my photos, I feared I was having one failure after another. I've learned that while, with a good lens, it's not altogether difficult to get a good moon photo, but take away the moonlight (as the moon is eclipsed between the earth and the sun) and it's very hard to focus!
Since joining 365, this is the second blood moon I've photographed when rising early for the event. I wonder how long I have to wait for the next one!
(We're meeting Ron, (Mr Flamingo Friday) to capture the rising Super Blue Moon this afternoon.
Oh well done Louise, what a great result. Must admit I slept through the whole thing. Cloud cover all day and likely a fair bit at night too, couldn't be bothered.
fav, fav, fav Louise. The palm trees are wonderful. I have not yet mastered the art of moon shots. Just dont seem to find the time but maybe I will be prepared for the next time. We had lots of cloud so not much to see at our place
You composed this beautiful shot so perfectly, and I love that I can see a few stars twinkling there! Good for you waking in the middle of the night for photography and for sharing your wonderful image with us...thank you! :)
This is superb, Louise! Wow, another role for yours truly? Marshall has declared me the 365 caveman, and you've anointed me Mr. Flamingo Friday. So much to live up to!
what i do is mount the camera on the tripod and use the live view to focus on the moon.
