The Dignateries by Weezilou

The Dignateries

Ron, Ken (behind the camera, capturing this exciting souvenir photo!) and I were warmly welcomed at the Flamingo Gardens and given the VIP tour! Note that Ron's escort was impressed with his choice of "camera d'jour". I was complimented on my clothing color as it showed respect for our hosts. You can see we had a spectacular time, and Mr Flamingo Friday provided a wonderful entree to this impressive circle!
Such impressive escorts.

Oh, geez, I should have known you were up to no good. Nicely executed though! It looks like my escort wants to sink his beak into my camera. And wait a minute, it's only Thursday!!

@stray_shooter You've got to admit this is a damn fine photo...lots of dumb animals and nary a squirrel in sight! I confess I could hardly wait to post it once it was finished ; ) Now I can send you the pictures...the ordinary ones before my careful post processing!

i am so fasinated with your camera... Louise.

@gq I got a Sony mirrorless to cut down on the weight, and it had excellent reviews...my husband is using one also. The new lens is a Sony 100-400mm...it's not light, but with the holster strap, it's quite bearable! Overall I'm pleased with the ease of using this lens. I'm defining where I need more practice, but I think I'll get there! Thanks for stopping by!

You are so funny!!! brilliant
April 6th, 2018
Did you plan your wardrobe around the flamingos so that you would blend in? Great photo!
April 6th, 2018
Well done Louise, dare I ask how this took you to do?

This is so great! Look at you two 365 rock stars!
April 6th, 2018
Good to see the paraphernalia that one needs for a long camera which you both have! That's why your photos are so good! Must have to go to weight training though!

Love the photo and story that goes with it but am quite intrigued to see the lenses you two are using. I changed to mirrorless (Fujifilm) a few year back to lighten the load when out and about, and have stuck to relatively light lenses for the same reason. But I don't really take wildlife shots or many landscapes.

What a treat to be able to pose with these magnificent birds. I have to admit to some serious lens envy.....
April 7th, 2018
@stownsend I hadn't thought of the flamingos before leaving home, but I'd hoped for a photo of Ken and me as he had on a light blue Aloha shirt...I never did get that photo of the two of us together : (
April 7th, 2018
@summerfield haha...why yes, those are indeed live flamingos...didn't you read my story of the Grand Tour we were given? All of it true, of course!
April 7th, 2018

@Weezilou sure it is! Mine isn't as big, but close to that hahaha I've just realized that I don't have a good photo of me with my equipment working on something

This is my equipment :D

Such a fun shot and narrative! Wow! I really like your lens, Louise! :-)

@petaqui I saw your first message, so I went to Google translator and was impressed with all the cameras you showed in the icons! (Besides a zoo) I asked Ken where one might see elephants AND penguins! South Africa! So you can see we did pretty well understanding what you were saying! THEN I came to your link,,WOW! that's **AMAZING**!!! I'm now following as I once posted *one* photo on Instagram, but I can't remember my password! I follow my daughter (Heather's) photos there. Now I'm hoping this is where I'll see some of those pictures you took! What a fabulous trip that must have been! THANK YOU for sharing with me!

@Weezilou I have the same camera and love it. I bought a second one so I can leave the long lens on when I go traveling this summer in Tanzania! (Yes, I really said Tanzania!)
April 9th, 2018
@allie912 I remember now that it was YOU who first told me how you loved your Sony! We did our research and ended up getting one... As I had other cameras I'd use, Ken was quick on the draw and began to use it frequently! It was clear I'd have to get another if I wanted one, so I upgraded a bit more and invested in good lenses. I couldn't be happier...as you well know!!! I'm not headed to Tanzania, but you're well equipped I know to get some amazing photos!!! I'm delighted for you! (Come to think of it, I made the investment in the large lens as I'm taking a photo class in Costa Rica in June! Haven't we all got some exciting plans!)
