Pondering on Love that surrounds us... by Weezilou

Pondering on Love that surrounds us...

First the good news: I'm going to Live! 24 hours along now, my energy is returning and I've thrown myself back into more experimentation with some YouTube suggestions. I have been longing to make something for over a week! While not a big project, it gave me something to work on, and left me in a thoughtful state.

Pam @pamknowler kindly sent me copies of letters I might use as background texture. Here, a letter any daughter would wish to receive from her mother was the focus to the project this evening, and I overlaid it on a photo from last summer when we visited Newfoundland together with Ken.

I was left thinking, "Aren't the words we write and say to one another the basis of of the very emotions we have for another and how they affect the way we feel about ourselves? Don't those words become a part of the air we breathe daily, not thought of as we do so, but a necessity for a fulfilled life? Kind words sustain us, nourish us, bolster us. What a simple gift. Think about what you say and make it worthy of you. It will uplift a spirit, warm the heart and always make for pleasant memories. We have so much to give one another; it takes but a moment and can last a lifetime...

Sorry Louise, have gone back in your photos and can't find why you suddenly realise you are going to live! I must have missed something.
Here there is a great feeling of looking at a wonderful view!

Going to live? I hope so...feel better! :)

@maggiemae Sorry Maggiemae! I hope this serves to tell others as well! I came down with a cold and larengitis on the 13th, and it was a doozie that turned into bronchitis. I had zero energy and slept day and night, though I chugged water and spent awake time in the bathroom! The 19th Ken drug me to the Emerg-Center when I got antibiotics. Today I saw my dr for a followup, got some more cough medication, but things are improving. I have NEVER been so long without a voice! Tonight it seems to be returning (slowly...Ken still has trouble hearing me!) It's wonderful to have some energy again; I typically never get sick! Of course I'm already overdoing it and must get to bed, but I see a brighter future now :) And yes, remembering a year ago in Newfoundland is a marvelous memory!

@gardenfolk Thanks! FYI, above...

so glad you are on the mend Louise. Love your thoughts on this one

@Weezilou Happy to hear you are improving! Take care! I know you have big plans coming up!

OMG what a shock I got as I signed onto 365 this morning! I don’t remember seeing this photo before and even though I don’t usually like shots of me I love this one for the wonderful memories that came flooding back! Firstly I am looking out to sea at icebergs! Wow how fabulous was that! So many things to love about Newfoundland and yes I want to return! Secondly to have my mum’s words on this image is quite emotional for me! My mum always found it hard to express her feelings and this was one of the few times she actually wrote to me saying she loved me - what a treasure for me! Thank you again for asking me to look for old hand written letters as I found so many things I had forgotten I had. Barbara and I really enjoyed reading through old letters - some made us cry but lots made us laugh! Your words are so true! Thanks again for those wonderful memories! This has to be a fav even though it’s me! Lol!

P.s glad you are feeling better! Xxx

Louise is it just me or do you agree that illnesses hit harder as we get older. My colonoscopy prep totally wiped me out and when asked my date of birth I got befudddled for a moment. Glad you are feeling better. I look forward to you return to the east coast when I always imagine we are practically neighbors.

glad you're feeling better Louise - I always try to be positive and cheery as I go about my day - I will admit I don't always succeed - when I am grumpy and negative I don't like it - a smile and a kind word always feels better

Sending well wishes across the ocean :)

This is exquisite, the lovely image, and your beautiful words. Actually, truer words were never spoken, they apply to the written word as well as the spoken ones. I knew you had mentioned you were going to have to take a month away, that you had too much going on; so I assumed you were involved in preparing for a journey or consumed with photo projects. Jerry doesn’t mind one bit when I lose my voice, laugh out loud, but your’s has gone on too long! I keep a notepad and write what I’m trying to say, you might try that. I do love sounding like Tallulah Bankhead before my voice completely leaves. Take care of yourself, Sunshine!

Truer words were never spoken. And the above comments show that one photo can have a huge impact. Glad you are feeling better.

So glad that you're on the mend Louise :)

I am so glad that you are feeling better, and your words touch my heart. Your kind, compassionate, and uplifting spirit comes through in your 365 project, Louise. I’m happy to know you, even if only on the Internet.

Thank you for your words as they were exactly what I needed to hear today. But - I truely thought that you were busy getting to Nova Scotia. I am so sorry that you have been sick. My husband had something this year that laid him up for a month so probably the same strain. And I was using an inhaler that was robbing me of my voice so I had to stop taking it. It is very frustrating when you speak and nothing comes out. Like you, we all look forward to you feeling better!

So happy that you are recovering, Louise. Yes, words do have an impact. Your image is lovely.

@cruiser @pamknowler @joansmor @annied @gilbertwood @louannwarren @amyk @merrelyn @janetb @stownsend @seattlite @gardenfolk @maggiemae To all of you, a Group note of appreciation for stopping by.with thoughtful notes. This larengitis has so limited conversation, it's given me "A Silent Retreat" for introspective contemplation. If I could write fast enough, I could have filled a journal with my thoughts! It's been, shall we say, enlightening, and not altogether a bad thing. This Th morning, I'm feeling about 1/2 way back but still whispering... And yes, When I last wrote in a caption that I had a lot of organizing to do to get ready for upcoming travels, it was at the top of my list...until I got side-lined and am still barely underway. Of necessity I'll do what I can as I can, but I do hate being idle!
@cruiser When well, I'm known to perhaps talk/write too much, but sometimes the thoughts just spill forth; thank you...
@pamknowler I contemplated putting yu on alert, but I didn't think you'd mind. I college & mixed media classes, we're often told to keep the word texture as such that they only hint at the whole. Typically I wouldn't use an entire letter, but I think/hope it worked here...and you know the rest of the story : )
@joansmor 100% correct, Joan! I really thought I'd escaped the entire flu season, but then family and friends around me began this "coughing thing". Decidedly, I was hit the worst, but then, when I do get a bug, it settles in my chest. My kitchen counter looks like a ridiculous pharmacy! I was supposed to have an endoscopy last Fri, but they sent me home & rescheduled. Like you, to be under anesthesia lays be out for 36 hours...again, nothing accomplished! Bugger! Let's get well! AND...*maybe* one day I'll let you know we're coming to Portland! We're already talking about meeting out daughter and family there on day while up that way : )
@annied You make me smile.... Daily life can be a struggle, but just remember for a moment, how fortunate we are, no matter what's happening! We all share the same ups and downs...and even in this "ethereal way" we're surrounded with loving friends around the world ♥ There's a thought to hold on to!
@gilbertwood @merrelyn I certainly appreciate those thoughts! For days I hoped to wake in the morning and have some energy, so at last my prayers have been answered! It just took some patience!
@louannwarren You're a Peach, m'friend! Ken and I are a pair to draw to... Me with my whispers, and he (though he won't admit it, with his poor hearing! I've taken to rapping on something to get his attention, and when he comes close, then I can speak. What an affectation of royalty! HA! You'd better believe I have notepads and paper all over the place! What I see is that I have no time to be sitting around like this, but might as well use the time to write everyone as I'm not up to packing just yet! ♥
@amyk Thank you so much for that verbal hug, Amy! ♥
@janetb Thank you for all that, Janet...the feelings are reciprocal! You live such a beautifully God-centered life, I can read your words in captions and always know I've come to the right place that day!
@stownsend Had things been different and the past 12 days been of my choosing, my bags might have been ready to set by the front door! So sorry to hear you and your husband were hit with this same thing; it's so debilitating! It IS odd to realize you can't pick up the phone for a brief chat with a friend, and at it's worst, I had zero energy to even write a note! I call a lot of things "My New Norm", but as for THIS, THIS too shall Pass!!!
@seattlite Thanks so much, Gloria! You're always such a ray of sunshine from up the coast and I thank you for that. My hope is to share my time better with you and the others when my life finds Center again : )
May 24th, 2018
I am delighted to hear you are doing better. I had a full 3 months with no voice after a flu virus that went to bronchitis etc etc.......ended up with a white board to write things on because I couldn't speak at all. So you have my hearty sympathies and my hearty congratulations that you are feeling so much better. Wishing you fully back to normal - whatever THAT is lol - very soon and sending heaps of love from my little corner of England
May 24th, 2018
sorry I missed it all, but so glad you are doing better, how awful!
May 24th, 2018
@casablanca Ahh, Casablanca, thank you so much for those sweet words! It would be *shocking* to find one's voice gone for so long, but we strive to be resilient! "Heaps of love" received and putting a smile on my face ♥ : ) ...I SHALL return!
@koalagardens There really wasn't anything to "miss"...I just had to leave the room for awhile! Will do so again in the month ahead as we ready to leave for a half year, but I'll eventually find my stride and Center again someday! Thanks!
May 24th, 2018
Ahhhh, so good to hear you're almost back on deck Louise. So sorry you've had such a rough time, my friend. I've missed your happy chatter and great images. Welcome back. Love this image.

I'm glad you are better. I have been sidelined and not commenting much over the last few weeks...
May 25th, 2018
Words and pictures help my memory which isn't all that great any more.
May 25th, 2018
Oh so sorry to hear that you have been under the weather, and glad to hear you are on the mend now. What a lovely photo of your visit to NFLD, looking forward to your photos of Nova Scotia!
