Today the grandson of our neighbor's made his first level of graduation from the fireman's academy. It was such a heartwarming gathering to walk out to the patio and see Blake's classmates in their blue uniform shirts and his childhood friends gathered there as well. It was a perfect California afternoon with happy conversation and delicious food! I have to confess unabashedly that I loved all my photos and they've been sent out already, as scrapbooks are being planned! Blake's mom, Amber, who was a newborn when we moved here, made this marvelous floral arrangement, and the table with the cake and small finger foods burst with patriotic pride, as festive as a party on the 4th of July!
Here's to a resounding Success Story and a lovely young man!
(Slept in until 11:30 this morning and still a minimal voice, but feeling so much better! Yea!)
kids like blake should be commended for great ambition such as being a fireman, as well as his parents for raising him up to be an honourable citizen. congratulations all around, including this whimsy of a flower arrangement and the brilliant photograph. aces, my friend. aces!
I had to take a double take when I saw "Santa Ana College"! When I was there they changed it to Rancho Santiago but I see they still use the name and I am glad. The floral arrangement is so clever! Glad you are feeling a bit better.
@stownsend Boy do we move in tight circles, Suzie! Ken says that Rancho Santiago is a different college than Santa Ana College... This school has a division for the fire department trainees, so that's what he was there studying. He still has a ways to go, but it's been set in motion and we're so pleased he's found his calling!
@Weezilou You know, I can't even remember where it was but it was called Santa Ana College back then. Maybe they built a new bigger one that is Rancho Santiago. All I know is it was a long, long time ago and I was so young! (I just didn't think I was young at the time)
Glad you're getting some good sleep and feeling better. You'll get there!
