Bodhi had learned this in school, so I thought it would be fun to "go all red, white and blue" and the three of us sing the song together. A truck rolls by (noisy truck!) at the opening, but this was a "one-take-wonder" (that I had enthusiastic cooperation at all!!!)
I send it out in the spirit of the Holiday and wishing everyone a good one!
(PS...I personally like the photo-and-credit roll at the end best!)
What a wonderful performance! Well done to you all! How lovely to see this Louise! No wonder they love it when their Mema visits! Happy 4th July to you all!
Have a nice Celebrathing and a great 4 th of July.
Shades are not a limmithing for plants/flowers. Lots love it. ( Begonia - Begoniaceae). I look for the natural habitat/conditions they grow. I guest you need first a good water keeping, vertilize, soil If the basic conditions are good they wll reward you with grows and blooming.
Happy 4th of July to you and yours, Louise! A darling video of you and the grandkids! So fun! That is one of my favorite songs...Grand Old Flag! Enjoy NS and the day! :)
@koalagardens Was going to drop you a note earlier to tell you that my grandsons (different one from above...) asked to see the picture again of the baby Koala! They shared their excitement that the Santa Barbara zoo near their home has koalas on loan for a year, "and that they're territorial"... Thanks for liking the video : )
@gardenfolk Like you, I get choked up every time Kate Smith sings that! I was overjoyed when Heather sent me a video of Bodhi singing it, so decided to have them help me pull this off! We've just had a lovely bbq on the back deck with enough side dishes that we shared a plate with the neighbours! Feeling pleasantly full and enjoying the Golden Hour outside my window...
@Weezilou oh that's so lovely - you are making sure all your grandies get lots of good education, very good to see (grandmothers should definitely sing and dance with their grandies, I'm a big believer in that one!)
I thought of you and my other American 365 friends yesterday. Hope you had a great day celebrating your nation's birthday. I know The Star-Spangled Banner too, we used to sing it at school every 4/7 and the Marseillaise (sp) (in French) every 14/7. And, of course, we sang the British national anthem every Monday morning. Australia didn't get it's own national anthem until 1984.
@golftragic How wonderful for you that you learned about other national holidays! Patriotic music for all countries is always rousing! I have strains of your anthem flitting in my head... OK...Had to look it up! I heard it for the first time under wonderful circumstances! We attended The Last Night of the Poms at the Sydney Opera House and everyone sang it! Pretty fabulous! (Thanks for thinking of us!) I just posted a photo from today in tomorrow';s slot as days with the kids are busy...
@Weezilou I have no idea why only the two countries though. I'm talking about the 1950s so I assumed it was to do with the Allies, but why stop at the two? The time is long past and I'll never know the answer. Sigh.

A lovely photo.
