Ashley and I made several side dishes to go with Ken's BBQ, but before sitting down to eat (out on the deck) I requested a family photo. I'd bought 8 sparklers in the hope it would make for a cute photo... (When will I get smart?!) Some brighter family member suggested we take some pictures first without the sparklers, and that went well...
The sparklers were a very bad idea... We couldn't get enough of them lit fast enough, and then Dylan was afraid of them and ran far out of the group! My whole vision did not come together even in the slightest, but before we disbanded I took a photo of Ashton with a sparkler...pretty cute, and he was happy.
Everyone's now in bed and I just remembered I bought the boys some removable patriotic-image tattoos. *sigh* They're still in the bag...... The food was Delicious!!! Hooray!
A wonderful family portrait! I love how they pose obediently for you! The idea that my family would pose so graciously is beyond me! I can just imagine the chaos of the sparklers - we have such lovely artistic ideas don’t we! Lol! How the boys have grown! Fav!
A beautiful and lovely family portrait. Thaks to you family for sharing.

@gardenfolk Insightful observation, Cathee! It's the reason for the quote, "The best laid plans..." I suppose one has to "think big so if it goes South, there's still someplace to go!
