...and so begins another summer at my back door! Any who follow my photos know that I consider the raccoons a lovely photo op. To alert me to their presence, I set out a baby monitor and I'm ready to photograph them when I hear them.
The first sound I heard was laughter as Ashley & John arrived back from dinner in town, and Ashley made the most fun of the fork lying on the dish... "What??? (hahaha) You expect them to eat the dinner with the fork???"
Oh so thrilled to see your raccoons again! Such a funny capture too! I am so looking forward to seeing them again! Looks like their table manners have improved over winter time! Lol! Fav!
@gardenfolk They're happy to eat for dinner whatever's left from our dinner table...and they're MOST APPRECIATIVE if I can throw in a few marshmallows for dessert! Oh how they love their marshmallows! (In truth, they'll go through garbage cans or dig up gardens, but they're far more civil and non-destructive if you just offer them a meal! This is where I switch over and become a Liberal!)
@suelbiz47 I do enjoy making my yards a haven for animals! Most people shun the raccoons, but as I said to CC Folk, they're just hungry and foraging for food, so if you feed them, as I do, they've never disturbed my garden! To me, it seems so obvious, and they don't shy away from the camera! Thanks for the sweet compliment : )
@pamknowler I knew, of all people, you'd be excited that they returned immediately! Two nights in a row the offerings were empty and they left the water dirty with their signature hand-washing! On the third night I made preparations to see who was coming by, and he's showing up between 9 and 10:30! I'm so delighted the cat and raccoon haven't forgotten!
haha! Reminds me of something I overheard in a hair salon - the discussion was whether food and drink tasted better in "proper" glasses. The hairdresser stopped cutting and said, "if anyone ever offered me wine in a plastic cup, I wouldn't drink it. After all, I'm not an alcoholic!"
Hi Louise, welcome back to Nova Scotia and how wonderful to have the family here right away to get back into the summer routine. When I saw this shot I knew for sure it was yours. Nice to know you are close by again. Take care and enjoy the fabulous weather we've been having. :)
@gilbertwood Blind-dumb luck catching that one! I just leave something that will make a metallic sound so I know he's arrived! It was perfect, given that Ashley had just given me a ribbing about it!
@ulla haha! You're so right about that! At this moment, my grandson is hoping "Puddin'" will drop by again shortly...tonight we're serving uneaten pizza!
Sweet and funny capture.
@kchuk He's waiting for his chopsticks! Love seeing what people write here!
