Santa Leaves Quaint Old Rocking Horse by Weezilou

Santa Leaves Quaint Old Rocking Horse

The beauty of decorating for the Christmas holidays is that "Twinkling Lights and Sparklies" bring equal pleasure along with "Candle Light and Holly Berries"!
Very true. We buy a new tree ornament every year from special places we have visited. Decorating is like a picture album of more than 25 years. Love it! Your photo is very nice.

In your neck of the woods, it is dark early and these sort of lights become so attractive. We would have to stay up really late to see lights on inside our home like this!

@maggiemae how funny! Of course! I never thought of that!!!

@digitalrn If it's folk art you like, Nova Scotia is a good destination for you!

@lyndemc Quite a heady compliment, Master Photographer! Thank you, but I plan to redo it without the silverware sitting out! That's my own self-critique!

@Weezilou Oh trust me we have been talking Louise.

@casablanca I am 100% with you! For every ornament I hang, I remember the story! When the girls were young, before dessert was served for Thanksgiving dinner (late Nov) I would put a wrapped ornament at their place. That signaled the start of the Christmas season, and it gave them a starter collection of ornaments for their own trees, now 40++ years later! We all love traditions, don't we?!

@Weezilou Oh I like that tradition too - terribly important for each family to grow traditions of their own methinks!

What a beautiful scene Louise. I love your Christmas ornament tradition too.

This rocking horse is beautiful! Wonderful in design and with this "patina". Such old things tell a story. They are unique.
Great shot!
