Late again!
My good friend, Stephanie, was born in Shanghai, and she heads up the art circle I attend. Each year she asks me to contribute a card for a New Year's tree (an armature for photos) she keeps up in her living room until the following year. She receives wonderful work to display, but I always try to come up with something based on a photo (my comfort zone within that highly creative group!)
The flowers are a new bouquet, replaced when we realized how quickly the other bouquet was dying! ...The pig was a metal decoration hanging in store window; I used its shape to create something of my own (A decoration on a stick in a floral bouquet!)
The round chop is "Year of the Pig" and below it is a chop Stephanie's uncle wrote for me, translated, "Meng Lu"...something to do with who I am, relating to flowers...
Thank you for responding so kindly to my mini-collage yesterday. Here's another collage for my offering today since I've spent the last few hours working on it! Now to print it up and take to Stephanie and the group when we all gather again on Thursday!
(The cold passed me quickly - yea! Up and running again!)
Wonderful! I remember your cool Year of the Dog card last year. The art circle is a nice group to play with! And how nice they are a “circle”, not a “club”. 😊
