Stopped by the pharmacy today and while looking for one small item, I was amazed at the aisles and aisles of every sort of makeup by people and companies I've never heard of. I said to Ken that I found it stunning that clearly so many women felt the need of morphing their faces far beyond a small correction or two. I won't carry on beyond saying this much, but men don't feel the need for this and overall they look pretty great! (Thank you Guys!)
Must add this recollection from my teens...a magazine article that asked if women did all that for men or to compete with other women... I'm still wondering!
What a beauty and indeed all natural! I agree with you about the amount of makeup some women wear! Young girls wear a huge amount and really plaster their faces. The eyebrows especially get the “works” these days and to my mind look like caterpillars crawling across the face! To top it all they then take selfies and use a filter to erase any lines etc. They all end up looking like heavily made up clones! Such a shame when they all look so lovely au natural!
IMHO makeup is a total waste of money. I haven't worn any for the past 55 years, think of all the money I've saved. Just a moisteriser every morning (with sunscreen in summer) and the skin on my face is just fine, thank you very much.
If I looked like this I wouldn’t wear makeup either. Ha ha! Cosmetics suffer from the same marketing madness that everything else does. Remember when we had Bayer Aspirin, and that was the only Aspirin there was? Now there are rows and rows of Aspirins. Absolutely every medical and personal product is completely overdone, to the point of being ridiculous.
@louannwarren Oh my my! No, I didn't mean 2015, and when I wanted to leave a group comment, I couldn't find it! I know I wrote a comment to everyone, but now I can't find that! Clearly I've been away too long and the cogs in my mechanism are rusty!
You figure makeup companies spend millions of dollars in advertising promoting to women that they need their product so they can look like some movie star. And who do they get for their ads? Women who are blessed with beautiful skin, who have professional makeup artist work on them before being filmed under the best lighting conditions.
