After seeing Pam's @pamknowler many photos of Chatsworth House, I'm delighted to be photographing it for myself! Of the hundreds of photos I took in the many rooms, I selected this for no particular reason but to play with the lighting. More a museum than a *home* as most of us know it, there was an open-ended catalogue of wonderful, eye-catching vignettes!
One wonderful visit provided me with an overload of photos, and when we return on Wed, I hope to have more time to stroll and visit with Casablanca @casablanca, who's meeting us there!
A number of years ago a traveling exhibition from Chatsworth House came to the Virginia Museum. I still have the guide. Nowadays we are all fascinated by Highclere as a result of Downton Abbey. I envy you this opportunity and look forward to your photos.
@allie912@louannwarren So interesting that both of you mentioned Downton Abbey...and I can't believe that didn't come to mind while there! If it should have in any room, it would have been the dining room! I've never even dreamed of such a large table, laden the length of the center (centre?) with massive pieces of decorative silver! And to think that some of my dinner guests ask if we might sent to a side the little flower arrangement in the center of the table if we can't see one another!!! All rather jaw-dropping! So nice to be privy to viewing and photographing it!
I like how you've taken a seemingly typical shot of a bust and created a story out of the perspective you've shot. Wait, you're meeting @casablanca in person!?? Lucky you. And Chatsworth House? @pamknowler brought this amazing tin of tea to Taffy and now I long to visit it so I can buy one, too!
@jyokota Thanks, dear Junko! And to think all this began for us in Chicago! While I'd be at a loss to not connect with photographs, the personal element on 365 has brought such a great deal of pleasure! Each meeting and subsequent correspondence is truly a blessing! How fortunate we are! ♥
I like how the statue/sculpture is peering out the window. It is wonderful to read about all the friendships that have been made by 365 members across the globe.
