a typical backyard scene, but two days in a row I found this lovely large lizard sunning poolside. In the hope of avoiding a slip, I scooped him up to carry him back to the grass and plants. He was having none of it! Up my sleeve he ran, so I hastened to the grass...and then I couldn't find him! Ken to the rescue, as he was on my back. I have no fear of them...just didn't want to carry him inside where the cats would think I'd brought them a toy!
All's well that ended well...and this is how I vacation at home! ...spent time sitting in the sun and feeling much better...
The lizard would have had me screaming if it was crawling on my back...haha! Sunshine is very healing and kills unwanted germs. Enjoy your backyard and menagerie, Louise. Rest up.
@danette@will_wooderson@maggiemae@gardenfolk To all of you, I'd forgotten about the healing properties of sunshine; I was seeking warmth, so doubly well done! I grew up with geckos, horny toads and lizards in the variety of places I lived growing up, so they don't bother me at all and I find the details of their armor so fascinating and here, colorful! I was wearing a jacket, so he was only climbing on that; just wanted to be sure he was safe. Thanks for all the comments!
@moviegal1 OMG...HAHA...I was totally thinking of you as I posted this...a combo you would have posted with some clever caption! (I had photos with either the drake or the female...let's give it to the female for women's month or whatever!)
@ludwigsdiana haha...I know too well! I often receive them as presents at the back door, and amazingly, none (yet) have been injured! (I pick them up, wait for them to twitch, and take them back to the garden!)
Wonderful capture in more ways than just your photo! I am sure I wouldn’t be calm if one ran up my arm and over my back! You know what a wuss I am! Lol!
Quality time.
