"Bye, Baby Bunting..."

Ken had discovered more Hummingbird nests this morning, and since the babies grow quickly, I wanted to get pictures soon! We were surprised to find two nests, not more than a foot apart, but wondered why the mother wouldn't be sitting on this egg. On close inspection, the nest seems poorly built and I suspect this attempt was abandoned. Nearby, twins have little beaks poking above the edge, so stay tuned and come back tomorrow!
I guess this was a trial effort. Well spotted.

@pamknowler @casablanca @koalagardens @golftragic While I'm no hummingbird expert, I've seen enough of the nests in the yard through the years, and this one is is quite flimsy by comparison. This, perhaps, is her first year; she'll get the hang of it! With even a third nest in close proximity, perhaps she's working on her architecture degree!

What a dramatic image this makes -- and that downward brown leaf is part of the scene.
