For the time we needed to be out of the house, we drove the short distance to Mahone Bay for an early lunch (Scallops, sliced apples & Garlic on flat bread! YES, it WAS that good!) From the parking lot across from the restaurant, we had this view of the smooth, mid-tide water, a few trees starting to turn and cooler air. How can I wish for the house to sell when I don't really want to leave!
With so much beauty around us, it seems incumbent upon me to take as many memory photos as I can while here!
I love this view and have quite a few shots of it - such beautiful memories! That meal sounds delicious! I can understand why you don’t really want to leave Lunenburg!
All those pointy churches! A particular religion incorporates that style! Were the apples, raw or slightly cooked with the scallops? It does sound rather different and delicious!
@maggiemae As a differentiation, you're likely thinking of the "flat topped" Norman-style churches, but those and "the pointy ones" are all Christian churches. All the toppings on the flat bread (including the apple slices) were drizzled with a balsamic glaze and grilled so they all had the same colouration and a beautiful melding of flavours! You're correct in thinking it was delicious!!!
@maria03051 Wow, Maria, you've visited here also?! What a delightful thing to know about you, as, having visited Nova Scotia, you have an idea as to why we love coming here half the year! Currently, our home in Lunenburg is for sale as we're getting older, and as Americans, we can't get the medical care here that we'd need. When we no longer own property, I hope we can continue to come up and visit friends as we're really not ready to never see it again!
