In celebration of Canada Day tomorrow, we had music in the bandstand across the street for 9 hours! The one-hour sets were all just exceptional, but I'm partial to the swing music this group played. Cynthia, the lead singer was wearing the greatest outfit, right down to the darling red-polka dot shoes! John, on clarinet, dressed the part as well, and was an exceptional musician. Later, we ran into them sitting in the park and stopped for a chat. Wonder of wonders, John is from Costa Mesa, CA originally...3 miles from us at home! We let them know how much we'd enjoyed the show and they told us how much they'd enjoyed us smiling from our front row seat. They're playing at the bandstand a week from tomorrow, and we'll be back for more! (Starting tomorrow, there'll be Sunday concerts in the bandstand every week).
