No filters, and yet I got (and love!) this sepia coloration. For a bit I set f22 and added exposure. It's certainly different from other sunset photos I've seen and it's definitely not "orange" or golden (though visually it reads "sunset" I think).
I'm beginning to think Ross should offer medical coverage for those of us on 365... I'm totally sleep deprived, but I can't tear myself away from this great wealth of photographs I want to pour over and play with... ...know what I mean...?
I know exactly what you mean Louise! The clock suddenly ticks onto tomorrow and I'm still sitting at the computer going through all the wonderful photos on 365, completely forgetting I have a 6.00 a.m. start the next day!!
This is just gorgeous, I love the colour tone and the detail you have achieved with the surfers, a big FAV for me!
@pcarlaw I was a bit distressed while at the beach, to see such a dark image, but all the information in the picture looked good. I was toggling between f18-f22 because I was shooting into the sun, and then I set my EV at +1.7-+2. If I lived here all the time, I could practice the coloration a bit more...
This is spectacular Louise! Such a gorgeous scene to capture. I love the tones and all those silhouettes, just beautiful. Just last night my husband was whining that I never come to bed any more...know just what you mean about going through all your shots. I love the learning part just as much.
It's been so wonderful to catch up with your album!! This photo is absolutely gorgeous, needless to say another fav. The light, the beach, the surfers - it's all like a beautiful surreal dream. On another note, I absolutely agree with you - every time I open 365 I can easily spend hours looking at the amazing talent on this site and being in awe with the creativity, diversity and change of scenery! I wish I had more time to spend replying to comments and gawking at photos, but I need to remind myself that I need to pick up the camera and produce something as well, inspired by everything I have seen :-)
@slava Hi Slava! Thanks for all your lovely notes...and all the faves! You make me smile...always do! Since dinner I've been going through all my day's photos...a lot of experimentation and at least 1/2 went to the trash, but I've needed to do more of that! I could (and sometimes do) spend hours looking at photos & commenting, but I've had a surge of learning experiences lately (and that beautiful scenery up the coast!) so I need to focus more on improving some skill sets. (HA...that said, and what am I doing but writing my friend...and I wonder where the hours go!) So good to see you here... The pace is picking up as we leave for Lunenburg in less than 3 weeks... maybe just maybe I'll have a bit more time there...at the outset at least! ♥
I love this. Yes, I know what you mean about the urge to spend hours...I have been away from 365...still shooting from time to time, but not taking the time to go through all the photos I've taken! I have a lot of catching up to do!
