Ken tells me I tend to emote a lot (even minute to minute sometimes!) but the beauty and ambiance of this place isn't lost on me! For instance, imagine a somewhat-intimate setting of about 130 people listening to a young opera singer singing an aria and at our backs, rain is audibly spattering the windows & roof of this 120 year old building...and by the time the whole program is over, the sun has broken through and it's a gorgeous late afternoon that sparkles in the low, golden sunlight!
It's something of a miracle that it should go from "this" to "that" in a matter of hours...and I have photos of all of it!
Jane Palmer, you commented as I was taking these pictures... I hope you'll like the outcome!
Gorgeous in B&W.....I can definitely feel and hear the rain outside and the music inside.....what an orchestrated effort! Love seeing the old building with the steeple through the rain streaked glass! Very evocative...
@adambralston (I wrote a reply...guess I forgot to hit "post comment"! I was saying "thanks"...and I never would have thought to look at the trending item as this only had two faves...thanks! Always nice to see you here... Just came back from a 2-hr shoot of sunset, moon, town lights from the hillside & a seagull with an immense fish! Guess how I'll be spending the evening!
@adambralston Hey Adam.... When Anita tagged me to do 5 days of B&W, she said to tag the next person... are you up for it? She said the photo didn't have to be taken on that day...I probably have more free time than you do... I jumped onto your bandwagon when you were taking daylight photos to look like night...you have a very creative mind...let's see what you can do with this! Yes?
@linah This s from the 3rd floor in The Academy. They actually had two rows of chairs on the stage and 3 rows below for the singers in front of us. I was surprised they left the curtains open behind us as the singers were looking up at that in the afternoon, but it wasn't sunny.
@panthora Isn't ths a pretty view? That house is pink and white & called The Wedding Cake House. The steeple is on the church another block or two over. We need to get together with the men in our lives and let them discuss a trip here... At the outset I had only a little interest...and the rest is history!
