A year ago I posted this photo http://365project.org/Weezilou/so-many-choices/2014-11-03 and liked it well enough, I framed it. Here, Tom Alway, an artist/owner of The Maritime Painted Saltbox, had, back then, asked if I had any photos he might see for inspiration. I vaguely recall that he wrote that he wanted to do something with this window, but I was blown away when he sent me a picture of the finished painting! We went by (with my fresh fish!) and I took my print as I knew I'd want to have this photo taken. (whoops...left my glasses in the car!) You can see that Tom not only captured in precise detail the framed window, but added his distinctive artistic touch within that framework; I absolutely love it! (His signature style often includes a scene through a door or window, so this has everything about his work that I love! (How nice that the spotlight is on him in the picture!)
What a neat story. I am with you what a compliment! I was thinking about buying Topaz plugin that with just a few clicks can turn a pic to look like a copy of a painting.
How wonderful is that?! To have an artist like him take inspiration from your work is the ultimate compliment! FAv all around, for you for spotting that window and capturing it, for him for realizing the potential in that view and taking his artistic liberty, and for this wonderful picture! :-)))))
Another really cool 365 story! I recently painted a picture that was inspired by a photo taken by Mike Gifford - http://365project.org/salza/365/2015-07-29
