With Vikki @summerfield and Bill @bill_fe I thought a stop at Barry Colpitt’s extraordinarily embellished house would be a natural for photographers! Bill, I think, was underwhelmed...Folk Art is not to everyone’s taste. When I went by in 2012 http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2012-08-13 Barry showed me his “Twirling Bird Chair”, so I asked what he was currently working on. This is his latest chair, “Cats and Birds”, and I tried to photograph it’s every detail, it was so wonderful (IMHO). I marvel at this quiet man who paints in vibrant colours and exudes humour in his carvings. He’s found an outlet and I delight in seeing his museum-quality work (as it does make its way into a number of high-end and museum collections).
@allie912@jack4john Thank you both so much for your rousing approval! When we first moved here, now 15 years ago, Ken bought me one of his foxes, and I realize now it was a good purchase! He just makes me smile, his work is so charming!
That's a very quirky looking chair. Very interesting to look at but not something that I would want to own. I can certainly appreciate the creativity and all the work that goes into such a creation. Thanks for sharing and providing the link
