(and not even "24 little hours" between "morning rain" and a "clear-sky sunset"...) !
By noon the clouds cleared and we had sunshine for the rest of the day! (I'd said nothing could rain on MY parade!) Tonight as the sun began to set, Ken and I dashed out looking for a new location to capture the view and mostly came away empty handed.
However, I suggested taking a short drive to a hilltop to see if it might be good for a later date. Along the road we saw a sow (a farm escapee, to be sure!), 5 deer in the field, and cows in close to the fence with the cutest curly-headed bull calf trying out his first feeble bellows! Later, from this vantage point, 12 Mallards were cutting through the water toward the now-tawny rushes at the water's edge.
The light was fading fast as I caught a few last photos across the way of the back of Lunenburg from Second Peninsula. It cried out for a little playtime, and I'll post this to the young singers who spent so much time up in that Academy on the Hill!
But of course it's even more vintage-looking on black!
