Pam @pamknowler went traveling in Newfoundland with us, and Joy @joysfocus is currently staying with us here in Lunenburg. With the perspective of time, I realize that "rustic" is one of the apt descriptions of Newfoundland ("Quaint" is a word i keep using to describe Lunenburg and the surrounds. If you've lived in these locations for many generations of families raised here, you might not see it this way. But for those who are traveling through from the many ports around the world, "quaint" and "rustic" are those things that draw us.
I haven't even had time to look through my photos, and am only now seeing what I took on this day. I'm choosing the ones I like as I go through for the strong memories of "time and place".
This was another one of those little Outports along the coast. All so fascinating. Remember the man with the beard? What a know it all about both of our countries!! He should have kept quiet!! LOL!! I love this image Louise - I am not sure that shack will be there for much longer!! Fav!
Howdy, Louise! So wonderful to see your name and photos appearing today. I've missed you and your wonderful photos . . . and I've missed sharing my cute critter photos with you. At the beginning of July we said goodbye to Ontario and are now in Manitoba at the cottage on Lake Winnipeg. Something funny I wanted to share with you . . . I was showing my mother-in-law some of your photos from Newfoundland and Lunenburg at which time she corrected my pronunciation of "Lunenburg" . . . all this time I've been pronouncing it with a short "u". So now, thanks to my 98 year old mother-in-law, I know the correct pronunciation. :-)
This is such a fascinating capture! Can't wait to visit the province of Newfoundland. :-)
@gaylewood Hi there, m'friend! My "current photos are just me, trying to catch up from back a month ago! I've got s many current delightful photos with Joy @joysfocus visiting here (and I'm dying to share them), but "yesterday's photos" will be buried if i post the current pix...and I'll never really be caught up anyway! I chuckled at your education came from your Canadian family members! Think "Loon and moon"! I was educated as to how to properly pronounce "Newfoundland" while I was there! Keep enjoying your summer! We're having an amazingly good time!
This is such a fascinating capture! Can't wait to visit the province of Newfoundland. :-)
