A friend dropped by this morning and while he and Ken chatted in the kitchen, he said, "Oh Look! You have a squirrel in your feeder!" As any proud mom would, I trotted Frosty out for a little Dog-and-Pony Show...
She performed so beautifully, I broke out a bag of walnuts and she ADORES them!
FAV, Louise. I miss having these little guys in our yard since John insisted on "rabbit and chipmunk proofing" it. This is so cute. Even eats out of your hand!
How wonderfully sweet Louise !! Your little furry friends are more friendly than ours here. You need patience to get them to come to you like this. So lovely !! Fav
@jocee@debihas27 I wish I could tell you that I spent hours coaxing her to come to me, but I think she was already in the Peanut Program when she arrived! Truly, Ken and I were probably amongst the first people to feed the squirrels peanuts when we went for walks in the park. In time, we saw others doing it as well, and now, people without peanuts will be accosted by the squirrels! They're so prevalent in the park, they're moving out into the surrounding neighborhoods for the first time (in the 40 years we've been here). Frosty came right up to me the day we met!
this is a precious wonderful photo. Thank you for sharing it. I had tqme squirrelss as a child. There was a squirrel that was abandoned... They showed it on TV. Its on the Internet. They put him with the mama kitty and her kitties and it learned how to purr. pls excuse typos.
@creativeaddict I'm so happy to see your comment! You often have faved my pictures, but I've had no way to thank you. Typos Excused! Were it not for spell check, I'd be hopeless! I love that we're able to share the joy of having a pet squirrel...though it sounds like your's was turly more of a pet than my delightful tame freeloader! (I'll take what I can get and am quite happy she's adopted me!)
@Weezilou sorry that I have not commented. Often times I'm using my tiny cell phone and I do it by voice. You to take great pictures. I'm kind of it hit and miss on here sometimes. We had several tame squirrels. They're great. Thank you for writing back you're so nice.
I LOVE the fact that Frosty has one hand on the peanut container, and the other one on your right hand!! And, that fluffy tail gets me every time! He embodies the saying "it is good to have friends in high places"!! ;-)))
Love it Fav!
Happy New Year to you, too, m'friend!
