Went on an organised photowalk of Vancouver's Chinatown yesterday. It's a great place to take photos, and to get away from westernised chain stores (about the only name you'll recognise is HSBC!)
This is a photo of one of the many, many markets, all of which contained piles of foodstuffs, many of which are completely unrecognisable to me! Most of the shops had no English signs, but a few did, so I could discover first-hand what 'Australian Red Snail Slices' looked like ($23.59 a pound).
I'm a British software developer and photographer living in Vancouver, BC. I mainly photograph landscapes, cityscapes, night scenes, and water.
If you're interested in any...
I took a few photos there to but never from very close - I always feel like an intruder. Did you like a photo walk? I joined their group but walking with 50 people doesn't sound too exciting. Was it interesting/informative? Oh, and a great shot, of course :)
@naladka I find it useful as a way to explore areas I'm not familiar with. I don't usually get many great shots on them, but it gives me ideas for future photographs.
50 people sounds like a lot, and for the first 10 minutes or so it is -- everyone's in the same place and getting in each other's way, but after that people spread out and it gets a lot better. I even managed to lose the 49 other people and had to go looking for them!
It's worth going on one to see what you think and whether you find it useful :)
Love all the details in this. One of those shots you could spend ages investigating.
I was beginning to wonder if you were still on UK time & have turned nocturnal. ;)

Don't know any more than that, but might be worth checking out!
