Mount Shuksan, as seen from Picture Lake in Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest in Washington. This was taken on a trip earlier this year.
10-stop ND filter used to extend the shutter speed and smooth out the ripples in the water. Picture Lake is usually quite smooth, but you need to be lucky and have a still day to get it ripple-free, so an ND filter is a good way to cheat.
Processing this shot reminded me just how much noise my old camera had even at relatively conservative settings. I still can't get over how awesome the new camera is!
I need to get around to ordering filters for my new lenses, as I can't get shots like this at the moment -- it's just slightly scary how much they're going to cost!

Great example of the ND filter idea! Ben Long in his book mentions the technique. Nice to see it another context. Beautiful reflection in a stunning location.
