The rays of the sun peek out from behind the rocks of Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver, as we were treated to another beautiful sunset last night.
I left this trip a little to the last minute, and the trails in Lighthouse Park were rather busy with families enjoying the long weekend, so I only just managed to catch this shot. I had to extend my tripod centre column all the way up (which I very rarely do) to get the last rays of the sun before the disappeared.
This is a location I've photographed a few times before, but it's such a beautiful spot I find myself going again and again, despite the trip back up the hill with a bag full of camera gear always reminding me that I'm not as in shape as I should be!
A narrow aperture of f/16 provoked the rays from the sun, and I used HDR to capture the dynamic range of the scene, using seven shots with exposure times ranging from 1/1250th of a second to 0.8 seconds.

Hi, haven't looked at your images for a while which was silly as I can enjoy them and learn! As a UK ex-pat, you may get nostalgic if you look at my recent photos: Railway in Wartime, based on the North York Moors steam railway.
Another fantastic shot. Great star burst, and very well composed. And it is always much appreciated that you take the time to explain how you got the final image. Fav.
This is such a good photograph...POV, perspective, composition, exposure, colour...everything just right. And a big "thumbs-up" for a very natural HDR rendering! FAV
