A gorgeous shot!
We're Get Pushed partners this week and I'm going to suggest you try focus stacking - does that appeal to you? It's something I've not tried either so I'm going to have a play at it as well. If you'd rather sonething else, please let me know. Felicity
@fbailey That is fantastic FB, I've always wanted to try it. I still have to come up with your challenge. I know you like macros, do you have a macro lens?
@adi314 Am so pleased you like the sound of it! I've got a Micro-Nikkor 55mm lens which goes down to 3.5 plus a few screw on close up/macro lenses, a 10x, a 4x, a 2x and a 1x. Plus a teleconverter. This will probably mean much more to you than to me. I can get pretty close but a small section tends to be in focus rather than everything (but I can always try and focus stack). Hope this helps! Felicity
@fbailey Im Jealous of all the stuff you have for macros. so the teleconverter lets you get closer than the minimum focusing distance of the lens? I find it frustrating with my macro that I cannot get closer to my subject than the specified minimum focus distance or do I need an extension tube for this. Do you know?
@adi314 Love love love my challenge:)
The teleconverter is a 2x which I bought for birdlife. From memory the teleconverter won't let you get right on top of the subject, but the screw on lens do. The best macro I've ever managed was on 14.11.17 and it was a dandelion seedhead. This will give you an idea how close I can get. I'm sorry, I am totally ignorant re extension tubes. A friend of mine, Jesika @jesika2 has been playing with reversing rings on a Canon and she is getting so up close and personal. Do check her out, she will be only too happy to give you any further information. Her knowledge is way beyond mine:)
