star lit tree

Playing with the star filter and wanted to take advantage of the snow and this little tree during the Christmas week. Also thought this might work for my push for minimalistic negative space. I had to crop the tree straight, or I'd have had more negative space. Looks nice on black if you have a moment to spare during this busy busy week.
Ali @alinz Another for my minimalistic negative space. If I hadn't had to straighten the tree I'd have had a bit more, but there's still more than I usually use. Thanks for the push!

Perhaps a little overdone with the filter, but it's a nice looking tree! Lovely with the snow and happy that we don't have any here ;)

Hi April... i've been cruising thru your project to decide on a push challenge for you... i have a couple ideas:

first - i may have missed it, but i don't know that i saw a recent long exposure shot for water or light trails... so that's one option...

if that doesn't work for you, then perhaps "geometry"?

@hajeka Thank you. I have wondered what the grid on the star six or star four was like, as this eight creates so many lines it is a bit of a challenge for composition. I suspect it's not a very useful filter for much other than holiday fun.
