I liked the sharpness and angle of the mantis in the other image, but youngest liked the negative space surrounding the mantis and the curve of the antenna in this one. So...up go both! After moving from plant to plant, with this irritating insect paparazzi following, the mantis did settle down for a bit of antennae and face cleaning. I liked the curve of the antenna as it pulled it through for combing.

Ok I definitely have a thing for your bug shots - I also happen to love a good praying mantis shot and your composition and the graceful antennae make it an awesome one!
