Kali pushed me "to do a stillife with fruit in black and white, try playing with different light sources, natural/electric, diffuse and harsh to bring out the form." Well ... this is a beginning. Pears with natural window light. I had looked at the artists she suggested, but I do struggle with setting up and composing still life images. For now I was going after the different light sources.

i really like how you have emphasised the details in the pears skin here, and shallow dof good choice as i like how form looks in the blurry ones . possibly the third furthest pear wasnt needed in this composition imo
as for attitude the pears definitely have that in spades, can you see them as birds? i do., google kiwis! set them up as though they are interacting and communicating with each other as the artist does
