Old Glory by aecasey

Old Glory

My parents were young teenagers when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. It's been 76 years, but my mother remembers the moment the news broke over the radio. She was at a friend's house, painting doilies (like coloring mandalas today I guess). A few years later my father got his mother's permission to enlist and served in the Navy in the Pacific. They are part of the heart and soul of The Greatest Generation, and I'm so thankful for both of them.
Love, love this patriotic image...well done, April.

Really a lovely image, on this "day which shall live in infamy." So complex and powerful.
